mITX / MATX boards for Ryzen TR

Hi all,

Any guessing if we might ever see a mITX (I highly doubt it, CPU socket size is gigantic for a 17*17cm board, but wonders happen xD ) or the nearest MATX boards for the behemoth AMD chip?

Me too, even ATX boards to fit in a so small ATX case are too big? I think most of TR boards so far are EATX not actual ATXs?

You'll most likely lose half of the memory slots if you want a mATX board, much like with the X299 platform, as per the attached picture of what is the only officially announced mATX X299 board. That is still a lot wider than a standard mATX board though.
So far no-one seems to have announced anything with regards mATX X399 boards though...

Thanks Mate ^^, Mobo looks so fantastic, actually I will make big use of the core counts in the TR CPU - I was about to buy a regular Ryzen one with mITX board - but I can wait a bit for TR flavors.. let's hope the wait is not so long for such iterations.

All of the matx x99 fit that and that is the standard matx form factor.

It is quite sparsely populated compared to the Asus x99m ws. I am hoping the equal for x399 hits personally....

No way in hell is that socket gonna fit on a M-ITX board. Its footprint is so huge, you will literally have to lose most of the RAM slots and maybe have to go SODIMM.

Maybe using a riser card like the ones with Impact mobos would do it? still would be fun to see such a thing, and yeah I am waiting for one myself xD I mean the MATX boards.

No need for one as such... I mean, the X300 could be used, which is just a tiny chip the size of a standard I/O controller according to what was said by AMD.

The vast majority of the chipset is on the CPU. The basic interface of X300 is as @TheLostSwede said the size of a basic IO chip and could be stuffed pretty much anywhere.

Funny to see the socket is almost 80% of the board

they could properly make it quad channel using sodimm memory and riser boards. but after making it so small you will still need a fairly large cooler.
