Monitor Overclock Problem

I have an AOC 24G2U5 75Hz. I tried overclocking it to 85Hz and it works perfectly fine. I tried a few games and I also tried the UFO test and it shows 85FPS at 85Hz as it should be, the problem is, I'm getting an annoying "Input Not Support" Message from the monitor and I just don't know how to get rid of it. Plz help

That's maddening, I feel your pain buddy. Is the monitor meant to support this overclocked refresh rate? If not, there's your answer. You're lucky you're getting a picture at all.

For example, my 144Hz BenQ in my specs will only do 145Hz and no more, giving an out of range error for anything higher.

I don't know, perhaps the electronics simply can't take any more.

It's possible that they don't want to allow higher refreshes as it would probably become unstable, with some users blaming the product and trashing it in the forums rather than their attempts to push it further than the official specs.

It certainly wasn't sold as overclockable, so I have nothing to complain about. It does what it's specified for very well and I'm using it to write this post, in fact.

Some monitors are meant to run at certain refresh rate and there is nothing you can do about it and some others are sold as overclockable like my Asus ROG PG278QR 144Hz ( Overclockable 165Hz )

It's probably one of their 60Hz panels factory overclocked to 75Hz.
Just leave it stock.
