MSI is offering a more affordable option for high-refresh-rate gaming on the go with the GE63VR 7RF Raider. Thanks to is 120 Hz display, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, it packs a punch for the price. The question remains though whether that is enough in such a competitive market.

A pity they put a single channel memory. Hopefully they read your awesome review and reconsider :)

One thing unique about MSI is that it's the only laptop I know of whereby the logo / name on the unit actually tells you who made it. Every other fairly well known brand can't make that claim. However this sinngle channel thing was a bone headed move. While everyone says "build your own" for the desktop or at least have it it assembled for you with your spec'd parts, I don't quite understand why folks don't apply the same thinking to purchasing a lappie. We have had all our laptops custom build for the last dozen or so years by Clevo distributors. One I am using now is 6 years old and still meeting all my needs. The ability to pick each component from screen type (TN, IPS, etc) and resoution (1920p to 3840p) down to the wireless and BT, as well as multiple storage options, OS, RAM, GFX card, etc allows one to invest in only the componentry they need w/o getting stuck which some bean counter thot they could slip by the consumer to increase profits by $20 and cripple the entire unit's performance as we saw here.

There is a dual channel RAM. An unusual decision by MSI. Efforts , efficiency , could be better with two RAM elements. That it could be better dun MSI . Storage is so limitet ..
