wells thats something else he can try with relative ease the point is fixing the issue i saw 350watt and then 500 watt no name lol it raised red flags in terms of opperating properly but if its just a cable no sweat
and your right i never bothered to think about an IGP .... most boards they auto disable if a card is detected but if its not doing so then that would mean the IGP is operating and the new gpu is disabled seems he may have to check the bios altho since its micro atx im guessing its an OEM rig and his bios options will be few indeed
