My Stock Cooler is too noisy, what would be a reasonably priced upgrade?

For this moment the hyper 212 is a bad choice considering price-performance, the cooler is just too overpriced.(if it was 30% cheaper it would be fine, raijintek themis price)

So here is a small list for some nice coolers than fit the budget using overcloackers uk

120mm fan cooler: (a little bit better than the 212 evo) https://www.overclockers.co.uk/raijintek-themis-direct-contact-cpu-cooler-hs-001-rt.html
Near hyper 212 evo price but much better: (in this case exactly the same price) https://www.overclockers.co.uk/raijintek-ereboss-high-performance-cpu-cooler-black-hs-014-rt.html
Semi-high end: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cryo...ink-with-140mm-fan-black-frame-hs-007-cy.html

The diference from the ereboss to h5 seems quite small so i believe the ereboss seems the best price-performance option.

NH-U12S and U14 are nice but other coolers are quieter or as quiet and perform the same or better... So why spend more if you litterally gain no benefit other than to say you own a Noctua cooler lol

Never had an Issue with installing the Scythe Ashura on my Am3 rig, its overclocked to 5.0GHz, Idle is 38-40 Degrees, Gaming is in the 50s. Under Ryzen Blender stress it hits 75-77. Stays pretty quiet under gaming load.

I review coolers here. I have tested the U12S and U14S fact is fact while they are good coolers they are overpriced for what you get. They are an ultra premium. However other brands have stepped up offering similar build quality including be quiet! / CRYORIG / Thermalright.

Off the top of my head U12S stateside goes for $58-80 U14S goes for $70-80. Right now that $58 price for the U12S is because its on sale at newegg. When its not on sale they have it listed for $79. Massive markup because noctua is popular and a premium brand.

MSI Core Frozr L while guady = exact same performance as a U12S for currently about $10 less.
Other coolers that offer the same performance include.

Silverstone Argon AR03 somewhat louder cheaper
Scythe Mugen 4 slightly louder cheaper
Scythe Ashura slightly louder cheaper
Enermax ETS-T40 slightly louder cheaper
H5 universal - same noise level cheaper better performance
Thermalright Macho Rev B- quieter similar price better performance

Put bluntly while Noctua is good other manufacturers have stepped up their game.
