NEC Display Solutions Introduces New 22-Inch MultiSync E Series Monitor

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the LED-backlit MultiSync E223W display, a desktop monitored designed for cost and environmentally conscious business customers. The Energy Star 6.0-compliant MultiSync E223W gives users tools to help them enhance their productivity. The widescreen display enables several applications to be open simultaneously, while it's fully ergonomic design includes 110mm height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot for improved comfort during use.

This MultiSync E Series model comes with ECO Mode to reduce power consumption and heat generation, and an ambient light sensor to detect external light sources and adjust the display's brightness accordingly. "NEC Display's strong commitment to the environment has been an industry hallmark for a number of years," said Kevin Christopherson, Director of Product Marketing for Desktop Displays at NEC Display Solutions. "The MultiSync E223W uses an LED-backlit LCD to increase energy savings by up to 40 percent in comparison to conventional CCFL-backlit LCD monitors. This is especially beneficial to our business customers that are looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment, as well as save costs."



Besides the LED backlight, users also have the ability to track their carbon footprint savings with the MultiSync E223W's carbon footprint meter, a unique tool that calculates the reduction of green gas emissions. Additionally, the Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) helps conserve energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by switching to a low power state or automatically powering down when the monitor is on but not in use.

The widescreen MultiSync E223W includes the following features:

The MultiSync E223W comes with a 3-year parts and labor limited warranty and will be available in May 2013 at an estimated street price of $209.

When it comes to monitors and NEC together, it's very unlikely that you end up with anything close to "lame" imo. I'm sure that this product has a target audience, it's just not for you perhaps.

22 inch at 1680 x 1050 16:10 is great .
this is the only thing i regret about my old philips monitor 16:10 is great xd good to see the return of this intelligent solution.

At least the 2000's.

Anyway, this could be decent, as I think that is a good resolution for that size. But it has to be cheap, or very very good. I rather have this than 1600x900 or 1440 x 900.

My current monitor is Philips on 1680x1050. I find it a strange resolution. I still have my movies on 1080p, but it has to "cramp" them a little bit. I noticed on SC2 that it cuts a little from the visible space than monitors on 16:9. I'm kinda used to it, but I feel like 1600x900 or 144x900 is a better option depending on what you need.
