Flashed a vBios trying to unlock Voltage now i cant get the card to work properly, Still in the process of finding a compatible Bios within the collection here. Any Help would be appreciated. :banghead::banghead:

Edit : this is the 3rd release of this card, had the two dvi slots

someone out there has to have this card... can you provide me with a vBios dump please

The Card Dosn't have a switch, i have read that post and unfortunately none of the vBios on the current collection page work. exact Part number from the board and card differ. FX-797A-TDBC V5.0

Email XFX and tell them what a silly bugger your are and beg for a BIOS. You'd be surprised, sometimes they actually send you one, they sent my brother his.

That was the first thing i did... now w/ the new support site it takes ages to get any sort of response

Well you signed an invisible contract the second you loaded that alternate BIOS on the card. Now you have to reap the consequences, good or bad :D

Now, I think my brother has the same card as you. I purchased him an XFX-797A-TDFC. It's a non-Ghz edition card with two DVI ports, two mini DP, and a full HDMI port. It also lacks a BIOS switch. A few months back I had to RMA it, but the card that we received in return had 'Rev. 5' on the PCB sticker. I'm just not certain it's the same card. If there's something I can look at in GPU-Z to confirm it's the right card, I'll see if I can't convince him to make a copy of his BIOS.

Please do! I would be eternally in your debt! Not sure if gpuZ would show you the info needed however the sticker on the pcb will show FX-797A-TDB V5.0

I've officially tried every single bios from the collection none work. :banghead:

XFX support was no help what so ever, they told me all cards have the same bios and that the part numbers are benign... wtf?! bacically i have to wait till tech support gets to my support ticket to issue the rma... lesson learned i guess

Alright, so I spoke with my brother, and he has sent me the bios.rom from his card. Again, it's a Non-Ghz XFX 7970 2DVI, 2MiniDP, 1HDMI card with no BIOS switch. Again, the PCB sticker says Rev. 5 which his previous card didn't. Couple that with the lack of a BIOS switch and I'd imagine it's the same card. Obviously, no guarantees it will work, but if you send me a PM with an email address I can send the file to, I'll get it out to you as soon as possible.

Hi guys I have exact same card and exact same problem. Could any of you please upload the bios? V5.0

I emailed you the BIOS in response to your PM. Maybe foeshigity or you, assuming it works, could upload it to the VGA BIOS Database. With the card 100 miles away in my brother's PC, I'm just not comfortable posting it without reading the exact specifications straight from the PCB sticker.

Sound and sensible advice Should have been the 1st thing you should have done before asking here
The manufacture is often the best place to go for updates First

Your need to supply relevant model and serial numbers to ensure correct update is available
@XFXSupport May be able to help you PM Him with details

I'd give you the bios file but the xfx 7970 that i had died with a PSU :(, it was the same model as yours :|

I've already written XFX support via their portal, to no avail. (no response as of yet)
I'm well aware of the proper channels to go through, however with the prior users having the exact same issue, I'm trying all possible outlets here.

Reporting in,

I can usually get the bios files within a day or two.
