Hi all.

I got a virus and it's deleted the contents of my local hosts file from C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Could someone copy and paste the contents of theirs so I can restore mine please? I don't need advice on what to do when editing it or instructions on virus removal etc., I just need a copy and pasta please :)

Can't believe I couldn't remember the important bits lol I've been using Windows 7 for so long I've forgotten what it feels like to have to fix something :laugh:

I know I could have googled it, but I wanted to ask here so that the answer is here in case anyone has the same problem, as this is very strange.
I left my PC on for an hour while I went out, came back and the desktop had disappeared leaving just my wallpaper. Pressed ctrl+alt+del and "start task manager" wasn't there so I shat myself :laugh: AV was running and everything so I'm absolutely stumped on how I got it.

I'm too old for all the manual virus removal these days so I just run combofix then MBAM.

To all: If you get infected and you remove the infection, check your hosts file.

No problem :D, I had a simler thing happen a few months ago to, I coulden't load anything up because the malware or virus had disabled something in my reg (forgot what its called now) but it had to do with making programs run. Got infected by updating what i thought was flash player and im usualy very carefull but just goes to show how easy it is to make a mistake.
