I can't find the memory timings on Crucial PC3200 1GB DDR 400mhz RAM anywhere, Crucial's rep didn't have a clue, just tried to sell me a 2GB kit. Does any body have some, so that they can tell me ?
I found a very good price on some and I want to match it up with a Patriot 1GB stick of PC3200 DDR 400mhz I have so I can run Dual Channel. (mobo is capable). I know your suppose to buy these in pairs, but I've got a 512mb Kingston paired up with a Micron 512mb and thier running Dual Channel just fine. (capacity, speed, and timing just have to be the same).
My Patriot is running 3-4-4-8.

any help/advice is appreciated.

512 or 1Gb sticks?

they are both 1GB sticks

Ok thanks, thats good to know, but should I use the BIOS to make the changes or nTune ?

alrightythen, please give me a moment to look at my rigs guts and I'l be right back.

i find CPUz to be very helpfull.....

Yes I use CPUz all the time to check how things are running.
Ok I went and looked at my Bios and TCL is set for 3(range of 1.5-3.0), tras=8(5-15),trcd=4(2-7),trp=4(2-7).
So when I get this other stick, should I just leave my Bios set at these timings 3-4-4-8 ? will the RAM with different timings match up equal or do I have to use a different screen/ program to get them insink with each other?

Nope, it'll just work at the timings set in your BIOS. Think of them as Global settings, no matter how many or what type of RAM you have, they will run at those settings :)

Ok thats what I was thinking (cause like when you change it in the Bios its for REAL). So right now my Bios' RAM timing is set on "auto" & thats ok for now cause the 1gb & the other 3 256mb sticks are all 3-4-4-8 to begin with. When I buy and install this crucial 1GB stick all's I need to do is go in and change to manual settings and put them all to 3-4-4-8 and they should then run Dual Channel. Yes?
P.S. I'm gonna pull the other 256mb's out.

As long as you keep the same amount of RAM in each channel (IE 1Gig in each) then yes, it will run in Dual channel :)
