I'm looking for an EEE-PC type laptop, I'm looking for one with roughly the Spec of the EEE-PC 901 so things I want from it:
Intel atom @1.6ghz, the VIA C7 processor sounds good too.
512mb ram or greater
20GB or greater hard drive (SSD or hard disk don't mind)
Graphics card doesn't matter as I won't be playing games on this
802.11g or n if possible
battery around the 4 hour mark or longer (don't mind if this is on minimum settings)
same weight as the EEE-PC 901 or lighter
Preferable if a linux version is available as I have a copy of XP enterprise edition SP 2 lying around doing nothing.
Here's the problem, I want a keyboard the size of the EEE-PC 1000 and ideally a normal integrated mouse something like the one on the EEE-PC 1000.
So, is this too much to ask for less than £250?
List of ones that I've looked at so far: EEE-PC 901, didn't like the size of the keyboard, mouse felt weird, wrong side of £250 otherwise perfect.
Acer aspire one, overall very good, keyboard is usable, mouse gives me quite a few problems and I'd need to buy a six cell battery which would put it the wrong side of £250
EEE-PC 1000, usable mouse and keyboard, too heavy and £100 too much
Not really seen any others that fit my desired spec.
Here's the best comparison I've found of them yet, seems to be a few months out of date though.
