New build question

At the moment in the process of finalising a careful selection of components for a new build.
The build should be able to play games 1440p on high (not ultra) settings not all aaa the ocassional aaa with not more than 75fps (75Hz)

Some questions remain, where advice with reasoning is needed and possible power saving in consideration:

- i312100/i313100 or is a 12400 much better (btw need igpu) or 7600
- 4060 or 4060ti AMD cards seem not to convince me

my opinion with cpu is that of course a 13600k would be great but its not in my budget and i tend to view a i312100 to be
capable of generating say on average 125fps in 1440p which is way more i need and has enough headroom?
Or im wrong?

Any help is welcome
 
At your implied price point AMD makes far more sense for GPU, and possibly CPU as well unless you have hardware you're reusing, so it may be time to start from scratch.

That said, your goals are much too vague to make proper recommendations.

What is your budget and location? Do you already own the display or is it included in the budget? What model is it? What games are you wanting to play - not just one or two, or "sometimes AAA but not all" but a list, at least 5 that you feel are representative, ideally more. How long to you hope this system will last playing things at high settings 1440p - a year? 3? What are these "carefully selected" components you refer to?
 
Both of those cards are terrible value, if you are hell bent on Nvidia and want a new GPU go for a cheap 3060ti.

budget in euro for cpu/gpu/ram/mb is 650 eur. max 700 (bought already a mini itx case (can fit large gpu) and psu 560watt).

will buy screen later as i have now an asus 27inch 4k 60 hz but look to upgrade to a 32 inch 1440p 75hz

Some games are Apex legends, squad, not that much cyberpunk
The system should last ca. 7,5 years until 2030.

3060ti is not much cheaper in central europe and consumes more power as 40 series
 
3060 Ti isn't exactly a power hog (200W) and you're not even getting 10% more raster performance uplift with the 4060 Ti by contrast.
All you're really getting w that vs last gen is DLSS3 and frame-gen, it's arguably the worst value card in the 40xx series.

There's no way to build a system that will last till 2030 with high settings at 1440p, can't even guarantee that with all current top of the line parts. "Last" as in "still working" yes, but capable of gaming at that level, absolutely not.

Chances are your hypothetical 32" 1440p screen will be 120, 144, or 175Hz, not 75 (don't buy a 75Hz panel, they're usually junk). Budget is enough of a constraint that it won't really matter for now, though.

For esports titles you'll be fine. For AAA, there's no way to hit 1440p high with that budget, especially not building ITX

its a 75hz panel from benq i like its design and have no doubts its not good.

i would like to hear a better reasoning why not to take 12100 or 13100 and which amd gpu than?
so a 3060ti is almost as good in 1440p as a 4060ti than 4060ti is meh..

Looking at Amazon de prices, it's around 330€ for the cheapest LGA1700 ITX mobo + 16GB RAM + 12400. More or less you have 300€ for just the GPU, which gets you a 4060. Can't really fit a 7600 in the budget unless you find a really good price although the future upgradability would be a huge plus if it were possible.

That's more of a side-grade, questionably a downgrade. You are halving your number of pixels and reducing PPI for only a 15 Hz increase in refresh rate.

40w isn't going to make a huge difference in your power bill. A majority of you bill is going to come from heating, appliances, and cooking.

do i notice any difference with 12400 opposed to a 12100?
i probably wont notice the monitor difference that much as games are not rendered in 4k and i m not to close to screen

Yes, you want at least 6 cores. The 12100 only has 4

Maybe, depends on the viewing distance. Images rendered at a lower resolution than native are still sharper on a 4K display than a 1440p display.
 
honestly seems to me you need to save more money, OP. Your budget is far too low to build the system you desire.
 
This is the right place to ask questions about new builds, but for starters i would say you need to save more money up for the build.
And i somewhat fear the temps in the ITX case you bought will throttle your hardware.
With that said, i would recommend a CPU with 3D cache, and minimum a 4070 or a 7800XT for longevity.

That ITX case isn't a "ITX" case per se - it's a 27L wind tunnel - it will get the same temps as any good mid tower.

yes its a windtunnel it even has a nice air ramp behind front fan zoom in on interior and u will see

That is good to hear. I hope OP end up with a satisfying build.

X3D cache is not braking your budget luckly, i would recommend you save up as much you can for the GPU. My system cost me 700$, i have since upgraded the case and the cpu cooler.
 
do you have a ballpark on how much you want to spend?
 
Why don't you get the cheaper 13400f? Then you can always upgrade to a higher end 14 gen chip in the future. And you can use ddr4, if you want to save some money there. But if even that is too much then yeah I guess the 12100 or 13100 would be fine. But you really want those 2 more pcores.

I would avoid the 4060 series completely due to the bandwidth. If you're set on nvidia I would go with the 4070. If you can't afford that... 3060 maybe? The thing is, its a little underpowered. The 6700xt or 6800, 6800xt, 7700xt, 7800xt would all be a better value. Wherever you can find a deal.

in case gpu is defect, i have no display screen (have no spare card), thats why i igpu, also first build is a bit easier for me
