It shouldnt supposed to be visualy impresive , just tech show for some 3d nerds. I am sure in jungle environment this improved lighting will look way better than in first Crysis

When they push the boundaries of graphics people whine and bitch that it doesn't run maxxed out on their top of the line computer, even though it was designed for future hardware but when they try to improve and optimise their current engine people are "unimpressed". Can Crytek do anything right? (sarcastic)

How about a engine that scales well on only PC's? No what we get is a half finished engine which once they did complete it could run on a console. Its the same damn engine but they put a 2 on the end. Crytek is full of shit.

I think they are working backwards as a GTX280 does not give 120FPS in the current version of crysis

Either that or they are optomizing code to run faster whilst maintaining aesthetical levels - think crysis to warhead but on a larger scale.

thats what i thought after a while, but still no DX11 effect still leave quite a lot to be desired out of the engine

I wouldn't say less stunning, but less groundbreaking as there are no new features just yet, such as physx support, or DX11 but then again im not suprised that nothing new has come out as this engine will support the underpowered consoles as well, ruining the true potential which us pc gamers could have.

I'm very interested to see where this goes.... come on crytek....

didn't really play like crap, just was a little bit of a disapointment like having open maps which half of which was blocked off! :shadedshu

but I do hope that they fix the gameplay too, and maybe release an RTS game

Were we all watching the same video ? It looks incredible graphics wise. Also these days console ports are done just as well as individual games. There is program's that can automatically change the majority of the code for the developers who then tweak the game and polish it up for each version. Just because crysis 2 is coming out for the console's doesn't mean it will be bad and the graphics will suck because trust me they won't.

Well its supposed to be. More like Crengine 1.5 since they have to scale it down to run on dx9 based consoles.

But seriously, its just the same Cryengine 2.0. Only with multiplatform capabilities which was left out on the previous version. A multiplatform code needs a complete definition of the dev framework. Hence the overhaul and the "3.0".

Wow that's some serious optimisations on that engine. I love all the small detail's they've added as well. I think crytek are going to sell this engine to other dev's since it has so many different artistic elements to it.
