It's all good stuff IMO , even your current card would be fine, unless you'll be buying a 4K monitor in the next few days, well then any 1080Ti is a good option.

Even at 4k I've never seen a problem with a standard 1080 just turn down your settings and use the classified. From a build standpoint the classified is a better card and you'd be hard pressed to find a performance reason to switch to a ti. A good overclock can close the performance gap between a card and the card above it (i actually gained only about 5% from my 970 to 980). Your classified is made to overclock so use it.

....to see if it has an effect on the market. Although, if this crypto-mining craze keeps going, again, that might push the prices of AMD cards up and Nvidia might end up figuring out a way to bump their prices up.

Only one? If you're not going SLI, you won't need to worry about triple-slot cards and the likes blocking your other stuff. So just pick whichever one you like the looks of. I'd go with the FTW3 if you can get something out of the triple fan aesthetic. You're probably going to replace it in a year or so when Volta comes out anyway. So don't worry too much about it.

At the steep price you're gonna pay for it, I don't think it's worth it, so stick with your 1080. Vega will bring prices down, perhaps quite significantly when it finally launches and then Volta might not be too far away, so sit tight.

If you really must buy a new EVGA card, then I recommend getting this one and giving me yours.

stock evga card.

I have MSI FE edition under a Heatkiller IV waterblock. Runs steady at 2038Mhz core and 12Gb/s Memory. Dont waste money on a custom if you're liquid cooling.

Last time I saw the evga 1080 classified was $750 on Amazon I thought that was a little high I was like wtf that price for a 1080. Stick with a 1080 ti for that price

Voted for the FTW3, although be aware that EVGA has been kind enough to recently upload a new BIOS for the TC2, effectively bringing its RAM up to 11gbps (FTW3 levels).
