None of my steam games will launch

Hey guys, I have ran into a strange issue with my steam games and it just started happening.

Basically when I try to launch any steam game it just seems to hang and doesn't start and im not getting any errors.

This is strange since ive been playing deus ex mkd for the past three weeks with no issue.

I check task manager and i can see whatever game im trying to load in the proccesses tab but it wont start.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you might try running a start-up modifier, like
*-windowed or -sw*

see if starting in windowed mode helps

If it's not the gamepad, then try uninstalling one of them (pick a small one with a small download) and reinstall it, which might just fix it. You still have the others to worry about, but it might give you a clue where the problem is, especially if that doesn't work.

Is the drive strictly for gaming? Are only games on it? Have you tried opening other programs installed on that drive if not? Maybe run CDI to see if the drive is failing?

They might have installed something on the system that FUBAR'd it. This is a real risk with 1995-2000 games.

The application event logs might have a hint as to what is causing the crash.

Yes but deus ex mankind divided came out just a couple of months ago. And also i dont have a drive dedicated just to games. And crysis 3 loaded up perfectly fine so the issue is only affecting my steam library.

And I wasnt getting any error messages when i started a game

Oh, I thought you meant the original Deus Ex. XD

I'd cut userdata and SteamApps folders out of the Steam folder, uninstall Steam, then install Steam again, then cut and paste those two folders back into the Steam folder.

Make sure to cut/paste to the same drive Steam is on (e.g. the drive root) otherwise it will take forever.

quick update, my games are working fine now, steam seemed to be hung up on the latest update for deus ex. strange but I'm glad the issue has resolved itself and thanks guys.

Steam application acts when it feels something is wrong, specially closing issues, it will then do some fixes for itself. But sometimes maybe it doesn't feel to do it. I tried to search on Steam web site for a way to force that but couldn't find.
Also, there many stuff on the system that may interfere with Steam. Look here
