NVidia 576.02 breaks GPU temperature and rpm sensor read out for some applications.
I noticed my temp read out by Afterburner to be 22 degrees Celsius which should be around 35 degrees.
Afterburner also showing 0 mV power.
It seems to be only the read out and fancurve but still: going back to previous driver cause 576.02 shuts down in use with Afterburner.

Edit
Back to 572.83 and Afterburner is showing right temperature again and using the fancurve.

Edit 2
This from the NVidia forum. Seems it's not only the read out but it prevents fans:

RTX5090 here. With Driver GRD 576.02 GPU Temp stuck at 27ºC randomly. BE WARNED, the fan curve of programs like GPU Tweak or MSI Afterburner WONT WORK because of this reading. I've reached memory temps of 100ºC on memory and 91º of GPU core.

Hi, are you using the latest beta of MSI Afterburner? I got alittle bit of a mess, not sure what to call it, a glitch. The GPU temp doesn't change throughout each game or on MSI Afterburner. There is also another issue where the fan speed controls do not apply when i turn on the computer. It's a MSI RTX 5070Ti video card with the latest drivers from nVIDIA. Anybody else having weird issues with MSI Afterburner and a 5070Ti?

That's exactly what I have with the latest NVidia drivers 576.02. This with a MSI 4070 Ti Super Slim.
Try to get back to the previous 572.83 drivers and see it that helps. It did for me.

That issue is not only from waking the pc from sleep, it's also from a cold boot. Like when you first turn on your computer. They didn't narrow the issue down properly.

What i did to fix it is to just reboot after i booted up the computer. Then the GPU temperature works fine. There is alot of bug fixes on this driver, i'm not sure if i want to go back to the previous one. The BSOD, black screens for the RTX 50's is a disaster which is supposedly fixed on these drivers that are preventing the proper GPU temperature read out on third party applications.

I also have another issue where the "auto" is not lit up in MSI Afterburner. So the fan speed is stuck on 40 percent. I'm having this one on two different systems and on previous video cards. So all i do is set the profile again and apply and it fixes it. Unless someone has a better idea. Like it doesn't save the profile in MSI Afterburner when turning the computer on from a cold boot.

I (luckily) don't have any issues with the previous drivers, so can't help you with it. The roll back is the only thing that works for me.

So for a quick fix for both of my issues all i have to do everytime i boot up the computer is to reboot it. The GPU temperature readout works fine, and also the profile issue i'm having with MSI Afterburner for the fancurve auto being enabled properly. I wonder if that is an old bug in the nVIDIA drivers also.

The same happened to me with this driver. The temperature was 33 degrees Celsius with a power consumption of 140 W while playing, all reported by Afterburner. Also went to check the temperature meter in W11 task manager and it was the same thing. Had to rollback to 566.36 and I'm not having any problems right now.

It happened for me as well on my RTX 5080. Temps were stuck at 28C with high boost clock of 2960 consistent...no fluctuation. I uninstalled Afterburner and RTSS using Revo uninstaller...after reinstall, thought it was fixed...but then it got stuck at 28C again after a shutdown and cold boot. Going back to 572.83 also fixes the issue. Numerous reports on Nvidia forums about this as well. Not good for your card to use 576.02

Nvidia released a Hotfix (576.15) to fix this issue and a few others...

Funny enough, that hotfix is NOT the driver that is live in the NVidia driver page. The 576.02 is still the live one?

Jay had some very colorful words, truthful.

Steve was also very critical.

Also kneecaps performance in Escape From Tarkov - 566.36 is still the best to run (unless you're on a 5060/5060Ti, then have fun w/ that).

I had to roll back to 572.83. I was completely stable with that version, but with the new driver I get random crashes and black screens of death at what seem to be random events. It is one of the most unstable drivers I've ever used.

Yeah, driver borked Afterburner or me. Broken temps and fan curve wouldn't work. New hotfix driver fixed it.

I can confirm that the RTX 3060 12GB is affected from this Bug too. Not only Blackwell-Cards same with Ampere-Generation. Whats wrong with NVIDIA? So many Bugs in the last Weeks. My Intel ARC 750 had fewer Problems since over 1 Year! And Nvidia is the Market-Leader! Not Leading in Quality-Managment! Too many Money and not enough Software-Engineers???

The Temperature of the 3060 12GB was locked at 34 Degrees Celsius. Very annoying and let me worry about long term Problems. Even they claim its fail safe but no wonder if the GPU-Chiplet melts away with the next Bugs packed in.

Hotfix is already out you guys, has been for a day

It's also been posted here at TPU;

I'm with Jay from the viewpoint of "Why did they mess with that part of the code?". Mistakes and glitches happen, but the temp sensors and fan curve controls should not have been altered.
It's almost amateur-hour level's of silly.

Any other problems with the new hotfix driver?

This Hotfix-Driver froze my Windows-Desktop. Windows was still running Background-Processes. Oh Nvidia. They said buy a Nvidia-Graphic-Card and you will get a always stable and smooth System... If ON1 Photo Raw would get his DirectML-Support for Intel ARC back BUT since this Year they don't support Intel anymore for AI in ON1. And AI Noise Removing with the CPU takes over 20 Minutes for only one Photo. The ON1 Support stated that Intel Arc is not stable enough so they had to remove the Function for Intel GPUs.

I buyed this Nvidia Graphics Card for ON1 only.

That sucks..

Hotfix drivers are nearly never made live, though in this case that policy is probably... dangerous.

How they can fuck up so many driver releases in row? Feels unrealistic that I still have to use 566.36s from Dec to have stable drivers.
