Hi,
Yeah what NV has noticed is a lot of downloads and not matching gfe calling home
No gfe not enough telemetry.

That is not what NV expected when 500 series drivers were put in the MS store lol
Thank you @W1zzard keep up the good fight

Any changes I do with this app doesn't apply at all. It just reverse to default. Also crashes all the time....
I'm on build 24H2-26058.1100 version on which nVidia Control Panel doesn't work either.

End of the era. Rip nvcp, you will be missed.

Just posted the following screenshot yesterday:

Which proves that's not the case. Also attached the following gifs:

Ive downloaded the driver and still have the old control panel. I also do not have support for recording at 120 FPS.

The driver comes with only the NVCP, you have to download this new thing separately

BTW you're not missing out much. It's not that great, at least not yet. The section that shows your system specs seems to be a regression from GeForce Experience and there the graphics settings are pretty much restricted to the set of basics, missing a few options from the NVCP

there's nothing wrong w/ the nvcp. it does exactly what it's supposed to do. no1 needs that bloated garbage anyways.
Rose colored glasses. I could type in ten things wrong with the old nvcp off the the of my head.
Yes no one needs one unified program, but everyone needs 3-4 separate programs to get all the essential functions a GPU user should have. /s
Does the NVIDIA App require login like GFE?
No. Only the rewards tabs requires it for obvious reasons. Otherwise is not needed.
But it won't be. They seem to have shoehorned the driver settings into GeForce Experience, which aside from being telemetry-ridden spyware with a forced online login, is also a labyrinthine pile of crap that runs a ton of processes in the background at all times.
You have clearly not tried it for speaking such nonsense here. There is no forced login and i would not call 6 sub processes as a "ton".
Garbage. It's suppose to be a driver, not a game manager.
Oh. Im sorry but what is the current nvcp then if not a game manager? So i assume you install only the driver without even the old nvcp already?
Why change something that was perfectly fine?
To whom? You? Most people welcome this change.
Oh god, please no. I noticed a definite pattern - once something stops being a “program” or a “panel” and starts being an “app” it instantly becomes about 100x more annoying and less useful to deal with. The NVCP has its issues, undeniably, but it’s a solid piece of software and definitely better than whatever Electron abomination with 25+ active processes we will end up getting.
I know I am being, perhaps, unnecessarily pessimistic, but experience tells me that the new CP will probably be pure cancer.
2 services and 6 sub processes. About 400MB RAM and 600MB disk space.
Why is Nvidia even bothering to do this? They have maybe 1 or 2 more gens left until they pull out of the GPU market and focus entirely on AI.
And throw away 25 years of experience and billions of dollars every year? I doubt that very much.
SpecialK is a cool tool indeed, one of the ways that shows how useful for players the flexibility of PC as a platform is. Kaldaien is… a bit of a prick, to be honest, but that’s just usual modder prima donna behavior. Still a shame Valve denied the tool from being just listed on Steam, would probably widen the potential audience quite a bit.
Seems to be a theme here. MSI AB developer Unwinder is also a prick to many users looking at his replies. Personally i had a good experience when i suggested a feature to RTSS years ago and it was implemented.
What do you mean by outdated though?
Try and find a new program that looks like nvcp these days. Of course it's outdated.
Hi,
Looks like I'll be using the driver I have for the foreseeable future lol
Way to go gimping yourself. Make sure to also keep using a CRT and WinXP too as they fit perfectly with the old nvcp.
I can't find this APP with this driver, downloaded separately.
Well there is nothing there, for a 132MB bloatware this. As if the driver wasn't 2.5GB of crap already.
Still have to bring up Control Panel for 90% of the stuff.
What difference does storage requirements make? Unless you're on a slow/datacap internet or using a very small SSD i fail to see the problem.
But those huge images, thumbnails, lots of scrolling, loads of colours, big and small fonts all over the place - dunno i kinda didn't mind the previous layout. It would have been nice preserving some of that more simpler feel with the above 3 perks included or any other added features (driver update reminders/etc). Maybe Nvidia will throw in a toggle switch to revert back to a more simpler UI. Not the end of the world... i used to hate netflix and its super size me UI, eventually what can you do - we get used to it.
Yes i agree that it should have some sort of compact UI toggle.
Any changes I do with this app doesn't apply at all. It just reverse to default. Also crashes all the time....

If you're living on the bleeding edge you must accept some broken features.

Thats cool and all, but currently my driver which is just a debloated NVCleanstall with a panel from the store that doesn't run in the background is just 2 processes (NVContainer) with one sub taking all in all less than 50MB of RAM. I am not particularly feeling the 8 times increase.

That's because it's just a driver and control panel. Now install GFE and MSI AB and then compare the resource usage.
Yes granted the new NVA does not yet have all the GFE and MSI AB functionality (i doubt it will ever rival MSI AB) but it's bit a unfair comparison.
Especially as yours is manually slimmed down even further compared to standard NVIDIA installer.

@Tomorrow
Yeah, but that's the point, innit? I do not WANT GFE or AB to be running in the background at all times (or at all, in GFEs case). The NVCP is useful to me because it has what I need, when I need it and does not go hard on the resources. If someone wants to use pointlessly bloated apps or has a need for them - sure, that's cool. That's why GFE was and is optional. But shoving the settings from the CP into it and forcing it on everyone is a terrible decision.
I have no idea why people try to excuse bad software practices and needlessly trying to fix what was not broken.

Agreed, I personally dont care if they make the nvcp black and green. I am NOT interested in them removing it in the future and adding it to there trash software package. There is a difference.

Game ready drivers in general are a total waste

r530 and later will do the trick
I mean the actual Nvidia driver performance optimization with AI, not AI chatbot application. 1 year ago they had some rumors about that they will improve the performance of the drivers using AI, because there are parts that can be improved with this.

Ah, so it doesn't replace the traditional control panel, it's just another app to install next to it? That's disappointing.

It will eventually. It's in Beta right now. Look at the outrage from people who glorify the old control panel. Had Nvidia completely removed the old one and replace it with the new Beta that does not all the options, then people would be crying bloody murder.

Yeah, I know. I almost got lynched for saying that I couldn't wait for a new, more streamlined CP with a modern look.
