NVIDIA to Introduce a New GeForce RTX 3060 GPU SKU with Ethereum Mining Limiter

That will be a massive upgrade for you from your 660 Ti 2GB

Yes indeed.

I had a EVGA GTX1070, but I sent it back for RMA when Metro Exodus released, my textures weren't displaying correctly. They found fault with the card apparently, but they wanted to replace it with an inferior product and didn't cover Dead on Arrival within the limited warranty time remaining, so I asked for a refund, I only got half my money back.

After that I got a RTX 2060, ironically, I still had that texture issue. Here I got my full refund back and bought a new monitor while waiting for the new RTX 3000 series which was just a couple of months away and at the same time also upgrade my other components as there is clearly something wrong with either the CPU or RAM. In the meantime I am using my very old GTX660Ti which keeps crashing my games.

So yeah, now I have corrupt textures with a card that keeps crashing games.

I refuse to pay scalper prices, so now I wait, for 5 more years if need be but I will not be coerced into buying at these price levels and no, I will never buy second hand again due to miners.

In any case, it's pointless to upgrade the CPU/Mobo and RAM if I can't buy a GPU. By the time I can snag a GPU, the new Ryzen and Intel platforms will launch. I am annoyed but I have a lot of patience.

EVGA wanted to replace your GTX 1070 with an inferior product? I had always heard EVGA had a good RMA process so that's disappointing to hear.

At least GTX 660Ti's are still cheap. 980Ti's can still be had for less than MSRP. 1070's, 1080's, 1070ti's and 1080Ti's are all going for > MSRP now.

Seeing this happening, I think my old GTX 960 2GB can hold on until the end of this year before I buy a new one :|

@xorbeIt doesn't matter that it's not a bios flash. The point is to get past the restriction which these dummy plugs do, doesn't matter how.

No, you've changed the goal posts. You said CRACKED. This is the corner case work around which I already mentioned.

The 960 was a respectable 1080p card in its day. Probably still is if you don't need to run at max ultra settings. Plenty of older games to explore too that will run without a hitch on any modern system.

Yes, well, I reside in South-Africa, to this day, I am still not sure if this is the fault of the local supplier (most likely, what isn't corrupt and greedy here these days) or that they themselves got shafted by EVGA and as a consequence, passed the problem to me. Regardless, I got the middle finger. I am now in the EVGA queue system, I will try and get a card this way and ship it via MyUS, should there be a problem with it one day, I will use this corridor without the middle man, then this will finally be made clear to me as to where the problem was, should be interesting, but hopefully, it will never come to that. I too also only heard good things about EVGA before I bought my GTX1070, this is why paid the premium price on the card here locally, they were a good $100 more expensive than the others.

EVGA's queue still has people from last year waiting to receive a card.

I didn't change the goal posts. I really can't be bothered with this. You're just pedantic now.

Those very gamer and part-time miner, blinded by money, would often go out and source additional GPUs so that they can make more money, contributing to the scarcity of GPU LOL.
Not in this market.

the thing is nvidias declared intention to nerf the upcoming range of more powerful cards is in the short term gonna jack up the price of existing cards.. initially it will do more harm than good..

trog

Nvidia didn't know that April fools only lasts 1 day this month, they think it is a month long theme... the poor lads...

I signed up for a 3060 the day it came out, 3 minutes after it came out. Still nothing, EU queue. So people who ordered 3 minutes from launch still don't have their cards ...

Owning Callandor isn't enough for you? You always have to have more Rand... what a shame.

Prices should be locked, regardless op supply and demand.

Money ruins everything.

Nvidia can't lock the prices.

There are really only two main places scalpers can exist, Craigslist and Ebay, would be simple matter of those two companies stepping up the plate and banning any new tech product over $200 MSRP from being listed on there site for at least 8 months post launch. But they have no financial incentive to do so, which is where government should step in and place a ban similar to as I informed it out there.

Bah, it has a flaw. Can only use that if a woman melds the flows. Balefire for you !
Probably shouldn't have broke Choedan Kal then?

What do you mean? You're against the free market? :)
I am 100% against scalping yes.. It should be completely illegal. Idiots stealing the product from store shelves from those of us who actually want to USE IT in order to resell at these crazy inflated prices should be thrown in jail.
