[Official] Need for Speed: The Run

my brother actually bought the game this morning in ca and he just called me about 3 hours ago saying he beat it already and returned it

is it really that short.

Yep, I already had to quit again as it was getting boring, I upped it to hard and the gameplay instead of being more realistic just get stupider. A ford focus keeps up with a Murciallago with NOS, in the Colorado mountains at 130MPH? I dunno think so.

Yup, the game is a pretty major disappointment. The only thing good about it is the cinematics. They should use those cinematics in other NFS titles that suck less.

Dear Santa Claus, please tell Riccitello to drop the Shift series. I would like sequels to Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit, you know the arcade racers that are fun and sell well.

And no more goddamn 2 minute long races. That isn't a race, it takes longer for me to take a good crap. I thought this was going to be a sandboxed linear game where you couldn't go too far out of bounds and you could do more than just exactly and only what they want you too and thats it.

Well I picked it up cheap from my favourite site and I will say it's fun and harkens back to the original NFS's in the point to point(My username came from the original NFS as it used to go on the license plate) It's just a shame that is such a poor port at this point. I mean 30fps lock for a racing game?? That's just ridiculous. None the less I am getting some enjoyment out of it and equal parts frustration.

Actually I quite enjoyed it, worth the $$? No, but definitely worth a rent on a console.

It happened once that i went half a metter of ingame distance off the road. And the game decided to reset me even though there was enough space to solve the situation. Wtf

I have more fun playing need for speed underground 2, Was going to buy the run but after playing at a friends house and finishing it in 1 hour 47 mins i think i will pass.

Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

If they could do those 10 years age+, why on earth can't they pull off a decent NFS now? Answer; all those clever programmers are long gone, and EA just pumps out "the franchise" to relative newbie programmers who just left college, this is their first assignment, and they probably never even played those early great games.

Actually programmers are usually just code monkeys. Lead designers and game managers are the ones responsible for entire game feel and structure. For example, in case of Deus Ex Human Revolution, main person responsible for it decided to go with the original approach (more or less). In NFS's case, they didn't. Programmers just do what they are told to do. They can give ideas but in general i don't think their word means much.

nfs really became boring for me. Havent finished hot pursuit even. Im guessing I wont enjoy this one as well
