Overpowered PSU is not required: a case of RTX 3080 + OC'ed 10900K

TLDR: a quality 650W PSU is more than enough. If you are not a mad OC'er, even a 600W PSU could be perfectly sufficient.

FWIW I use the SF600 Gold with my RTX3080 and Ryzen 3700X (specs shown in full on this forum), and I've not seen my entire box pull in excess of 470W from the wall.

And that's raising power limit to 117% and aggressively overclocking to max stable (which happens to be higher than stock frequency but lower volts) which has the card by itself (MSI AB can monitor card draw) pulling 320-340w in 4k timespy extreme with peaks touching 360w. That (and Quake RTX) is what I'd call extreme scenario's and most heavy games at 3440x1440 pull well under 300w.

EDIT: to be clear, if I was speccing a PSU for this build I think it'd be a 750w just for the extra headroom, but the results speak for themselves.
