Passmark Scores

Hi,
All those scores cpu/ gpu/ disk look deadly but the total system score looks silly low in comparison
Yeah dunno what thats about.. all sub benches are pretty much maxed out at 100% so that total system score don't look right :P

PassMark - CPU Mark results (high end CPUs)

Apparently I'm slightly below average but I didn't tweak the BIOS.
According to the results, my CPU performance is similar to the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the Intel Core i5-14600.

In multi-threading, your CPU is still fast.
For example, you can compare it with Apple.

Apple M3 Pro 11 core multithread rating: 24613
Apple M3 Pro 12 core multithread rating: 27189
Apple M3 Max 14 core multithread rating: 36353 (minimum $3199)

My room temperature is about 25°C. But I'm positively surprised about the temperature of this Intel 12700KF.
If I render the BMW twice in quick succession in Blender and measure the temperature during the very last second of the render, I see the following values:

OsFshOe.png

The hottest core becomes 54°C when rendering with Blender. DeepCool AG500BK ARGB was a relatively cheap cooler but it doesn't seem to have any trouble with this CPU.
The GPU, on the other hand, gradually goes to 83°C in GravityMak. But one of my 2 140mm intake fans is not yet connected because I did not have a free connector on the motherboard.
Once this second 140mm intake fan is running, both CPU and GPU temperatures should be slightly better.

what is the difference in temp on your cpu vs cpu diode ? i have an 11c difference at any givin time under load . and any hours of use. i believe the bigger the difference the better ur cooling solution is.

The diode is only in close proximity to the CPU, so it's the external CPU temperature.
I don't think this is always more precise. It is usually more reliable but not always.

I checked my sensors and there was only one additional sensor that I can activate.
But the default choice was not to use this sensor and the program advises to stay with the defaults unless you know what you are doing.

I have not often seen such good temperatures. My previous CPU in a different case reached 59° under load and it had sufficient cooling.
These are my temperatures when only the browser is open and when the system is almost idle.

The DeepCool AG500BK ARGB came with a small bag containing thermal grease.
But I didn't want toxic materials on the kitchen scissors so I used my more than 15 year old Xilence Silver Tim tube and it still seems to do its job after all these years.

The difference compared to my old 7700x doesn't seem like much, but the new CPUa prediction just made the 2D test run crazy fast:

My 2D Score seems wrong

EDIT: Gsync was turned on so that was the reason for the low 2D score, with it disabled it jumped up a lot

Think I probably could have squeezed more out of my 4090 if I tried but I'm more surprised at my memory score, these are 5600 cl36 sticks. I didn't even do any tuning really. Just put my bios to irresponsible mode (intel profile off, CEP off, ram at 6400 cl30 and trefi at 40,000, no other tuning).... could have swore it was lower before. Well it is a new cpu, and a new bios. Maybe one of the two had a positive effect. Or I'm just misremembering.

And I'm still making sure my cpu doesn't draw over 1.4v. Which is awesome. I know I can get good cpu performance at a reasonable voltage if I need it, even on my b board.

But still I'm going back to pussy settings now...... 6000 cl32 (1.175 vs 1.4 vddq_tx) and 5.1/3.9 (stays under 1.3vcore) and honestly, I can't tell the difference.
