I'm pretty sure you can't SLi different cards like that and your PSU might also not be enough for two cards. or are you trying to use the 1060 as a Physx card?

i think it is because of 6 pin connector issue, which i got with gpu in box, if i use psu one and gpu works, but not working with that wire, see the picture one wire missing? Or its normal?

Does the OS "see" it in the menu? Have you searched for new hardware after adding it?

Pc simply dont turn off i cant see anything,
What I figured that i think problem is in wire,
If i use single gtx 1060 with that wire connector pc wont start, if i use psu connector it works, but i only have 2 8pin connectors and gtx 1070 needs too,
Can gtx 1070 runs on 8pin only? Would give full performance in mining or its dangerous?

You'll need a PSU with enough GPU power connectors to connect both GPU's.

I just went and found one of those that I have and it is also missing that one connector, but I've never had a problem with them, even when I overloaded a Fatality 550 one time. You are plugging in BOTH molex connectors?

Since the other thread was closed, this is in response to: Good 1000watt power supply at lower price.?
I don't believe @jboydgolfer is mining ,he is on the ragged edge of what his psu will do though(imho no big OC etc)
W1zzaed did not test the GTX 970 FE, but we can use his numbers for the GTX980 FE, which is places the max power draw at 190. Lets round that up to 200 watts, and times 2 for 400 watts. He lists his CPU as an i7 4790 so we can add 100 watts for the CPU. I would expect his power draw from the wall to be in the 500 watt range when running everything at 100%, and that's not even 80% of his (very good quality) PSU's rated capacity. I fail to see how that can be called "ragged edge".
His psu is likely a single rail where's your psu will likely have two or more and you are overloading an individual rail not persay the whole psu
No, both PSU's are single rail.
i have this issue with my 750 watt psu running two 1060s
Then it's an absolute POS if it can't run two 130 watt GPU's.

Please help me :( i have money to spend to other thing im not ready to buy another psu :(
For clearing the issue again, i tested that
Even if i run only one card installed in system if i use molex converter my pc still wont on, only worked if i use psu wire.
May be in doing wrong, which to what cable i should attach this molex connector too?

I attached this connector to one wire have 2 connector of 4pin and one sata,

i attached with both 4pin connector,

or should i use one connector from other wire which have 4pin connector?

I fail to see how that can be called "ragged edge".

"ragged edge" a tad misleading, but hey, to each his own ;)

i too would have made this point as well, but the locking of the thread was agitating, and i just said F' it. i DO agree that Mining would likely (since i lack knowledge on the subject to say definitely, but it seems like it makes sense) draw more Power than anything i do however. My point was just that 1000w seems a Tad high. and Yes my G2 is single +12V rail, and delivers 648Watts of its 650 watts to that rail if needed. Thats why i suggested OP (whoever it may be) buy good quality, and this issue could be avoided all together.

@P4-630
I did read the OP, but there has apparently been several threads from the same member on the same subject, and if you noticed i put a (?) at the end of my statement, meaning i was asking, or misunderstanding, i did read the OP.

on this note, im gonna tag out of this topic, i feel like its not "working" advice has been given, but seemingly not taken, & im not even sure i understand what the issue is, likely my own fault.

best of Luck with your issue OP, i hope you get it behind you
id buy a good Seasonic Focus+ Gold @ $90 its a steal for a 10 year warrantied 750 Watt full modular Gold Rated PSU. if i were You, and be done with it.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Mining can be all over the place as far as wattage goes. Depends on what they are mining... modded bios for lower power...etc. Because there has been like 4 threads from this guy, i can tell what is what anymore.

If a pau is multi rail, a true multi rail, chances are the pcie ppwer is split on the rails. Single, multi, today its rare it matters. It did 5+ years ago, but even then, it wasnt a huge issue.

If you cant manage to figure out the psu situation perhaps more advanced things like mining isnt a good idea... i sense another half dozen threads once the psu thing is figured out... :p

It's not "normal". Since "normally" there would be a pin there. But it's within specifications. And technically it should work. But if it doesn't, then it doesn't. And there's your problem. /thread

If you are mining and using molex connectors, I would stop using molex connectors. Before I got into mining I asked lots of questions with other miners. Most of them told me not to use molex connectors with the graphics cards.

Quit looking at 750w and go bigger if you're actually serious on starting mining this late. Not sure if it was you that mentioned somewhere that you wanted multiple 1060s but mining at any decent rate will need more than just two cards.

EVGA 750 B3 is worth consideration as a recommended power supply.

I'd stay away from the B3 series for mining and in general until this issue has been addressed, have a look at the 450W and 850W reviews from Aris (yes I know they got a good review from OklahomaWolf at Jonny Guru, but I'd trust Aris's reviews far more) they aren't PSU's that I'd rely on for mining

How many 8pins/6pins psu have?
I see people in mining put 10gpus obviously bigger psu but if psu provide only 4 6pins then how they are powering gpu by using molex converter?

my rig.. it pulls just over 1100 watts from the wall..

asus motherboard

8 gigs of ram..

inel i3 cpu but a celeron would do..

1070 x 8 cards

two Corsair 850 watt gold psus.. enough to power 10 x 1070 cards or 14 x 1060 cards.. with some to spare..

using two psus is cheaper than one big f-cker and you get plenty of connecting leads.. :)

at current (retail) hardware prices it cost £4000 to build and will a take a year to get the build cost back.. things staying as they are..

i will just stack the bitcoin i end up with and see what happens.. :)

trog

ps.. my gaming desktop machine 2 X 1070 cards is also mining.. i turn the miner off to game otherwise it just stays running in the background 24/7.. i think it pulls about 350 watts from the wall whilst mining..
