PCI-E lan vs on board lan

hello guys, i got this for free from old server

and i have asus Rampage iv extreme , so is this card better than my on board card or keep use my on board.

Go to link test with onboard then pci-e card and compare, use same server.

This is how I would test it and in games as well.

might get better pings with the PCI-E

Use your onboard and spare the slot. That thing is an ancient server NIC with no features which are of interest to the common user.

thanks for reply, i have limit internet bandwidth which is at best times will be 2Mbits, so i think i will not feel any difference at this speed. maybe can show real difference in 1Gbit's network
but i want to know about those error and bugs lags maybe one of them have better processor can decrease those traffics

tend to get a slight increase in ping with an add in card but better feel in game as it is a more consistent connection.

as for these 2, not much in them tbh.

I cannot see there being much difference although i would have to try it anyways, ping may drop a few but that's about it if any thing.

And as seen as you know your way around using a PC just try it..

Speed test.net is NOT a good test for ETH adapters.

Instead get LAN speed test.

Intel adapters are better due to server software compatibility with hypervisors.

VMware and hyper-v both have drivers for those and those are needed. Often times onboard adapters have issues with VMS. Specially type 1 or bare metal hypervisors.
