Web design programs need graphic card!!!!!!!!!
Alienware man.....
Yes, but for flash and dreamwaver an IGP will suffice, since it doesn't have to handle heavy 3D graphics.
Alek get this, Alienwares are for those who want an excuse to have a "cool" looking laptop yet understand as much about PCs as whole humanity understand black-holes. Later they end up realizing what a stupid choice they made, since for the same price of an alienware, they could have bought a decent portable workstation like a Clevo, without looks but with a lot more power...and yet at lanpartys those people get constantly annoyed by desktop/lanbox users that can get better performance, less heat issues and be as portable as that heavy ass 18'' alienware.
Those laptops are just plain useless. If you portability and work where ever you want, get a laptop (15.6'' max), if you want to play games and such, get a desktop. If you want to do heavy graphics designing everywhere, get a Clevo.
do you think the 5400 rpm hdd will bottleneck the system?
No. My Toshiba uses a 5400rpm HDD and it's still fast. All laptops, in that price range, have 5400rpm HDDs. Don't worry about it, but yes, you can also get a 7200rpm HDD later.
Two years ago laptops still had 4200rpm HDD and that WAS slow!
BTW, that A665 is a very nice laptop and a sweet deal too!
EDIT: Just realized the Alienware you linked is an 11''. That has to be bound with temperature issues if it can pack an i7 in a 11'' shell. Also, I've worked for 8hrs with a 10'' EeePC for several weeks (work laptop) and it's the worse thing imaginable! There's no space for the windows and after a few hours your eyes start to bleed. Well, not literally, but the feeling is there and you get twice as tired. Not good especially for flash and dreamwaver.
