so its matter of time we see more boards support the X6 :rockout:

Hopefully my gigabyte board also gets the new bios soon (not that I want a X6 but just incase...)

its nice that many am2+ motherboards will support this chip, some ppl will just swap their athlons x2 and phenoms for these without having new motherboard and ram

Website say it supports Socket AM3 so yes it should support new x6 cpus with bios update :rockout:

Very true indead, AMD did a good think to have teh AM2+ support the new X6's. Many will upgrade CPU only and many will buy new motherboard with new 890FX and new SB850. For me if price is right the new cpus should slip into my MSI like hot butter :D

Oh Yeah !
So just When will we see them ? Are they for the desktop market ? I want one but I am not sure a 6 core CPU is really needed . Quads are not even being used at all yet . I see a future of core wars going on not so much MHz as well most have stopped at 3.2 - 3.4Ghz . What about them wattage levels ? 125w STILL ??? I thought they would start to work on things like this by now .

Actually, I would rather drop 2 cores in favour of higher clockspeed, its better for games. 2.6Ghz is not going to produce wonders. However, people who use multithreaded applications may take a look.

I am always linking my upgrades thinking about the future and doing some upgrades one by one. it was my hdd at first since i dont need a big hdd i just needed it fast so at the moment i got a 16m cache. after changed the cpu ..and lately upgraded the mobo to get hdmi. Next thing will be the cpu to go at 6cores ...time after will get newer mobo still with hdmi and ddr3 memory on it and so on ...
The trick I got for my computer parts are the same I used for car and car parts selling....sell before your parts lose more than 20% of their value so if your new mobo cost you 100$ it will only cost you 20$ for upgrading it to a new one cause you sold the used one 80% of the original price for someone who dont care about newer stuff and just need to upgrade to low budget performance.

Rest Assured 790X, GX and FX will support AMD Hex Core Parts. 780 and Nvidia Chipsets I am unsure about.
