I compared to his bios number version in the database and the description said that it's a actually a 450 GTS...
Right. But how is that identification being made? Maybe it's based on another thread, where a different GPU die was shown. I don't know. And what's to stop somebody from flashing
that BIOS on a GF116 based card(e.g. GTX 550 Ti)? Nothing.
Bottom line: You can't go by what the BIOS says, and/or what the TPU database says, to identify anything about the physical characteristics of the card in question. All that stuff can be wrong. I'm still going to say it's a GF116 GPU based on the only supporting evidence I can find. Or show me at least 1 GF106 GPU die with a marking that starts with
P, or at least 1 GF116 GPU die with a marking that doesn't start with
P, below the manufacture location marking to change my mind. Not that there's really any major difference between a GF106 and a GF116 anyway. Other than the GF116 having a slightly higher(+10W)Max. TDP, there isn't any difference so far as I can tell. The GF116 is basically a 100% rebrand of the GF106. Not to mention the fact that
Rev. 2 and
Rev. 3 GTS 450s actually use the GF116 GPU.
