it looks good but if you take from somewhere, they may have different indicators and it would affect the result
especially good cooler difference is pretty close each other

That's why I provided the Frostytech link to the OP! They have already done all the testing for him and ranked, although his criteria will change the ranking. The data is all there, done consistently under strict methadology.

Hello all!
So I had an idea for a post, was wondering if others would be interested in helping out.

Seems like there are tons of reviews of coolers out there, but obviously you can't test EVERY cooler at once on the same test bench.

For this reason, I was thinking about trying to create a list of the best CPU coolers, to be continually updated. By researching and referencing other reviews to make a "master list".
(Talking PURELY in cooling performance, NOT taking into consideration value, durability, etc.)

I.E.

Review 1 shows Cooler A is better than Cooler B
Review 2 shows Cooler C is better than Cooler A

This would (theoretically) put the "pecking order" as
#1 Cooler C
#2 Cooler A
#3 Cooler B

The replies to the thread could be used for discussion for fine tuning the list, as well as suggesting new entries.


What do you guys think, good idea or terrible?

Sounds good in principle, but maintaining it is gonna be a chore and will likely not be kept up. Therefore, I've had to vote terrible, although it's not really anywhere near this bad.
