I'm at a loss of words to describe what Point of View's 'point of view' could have been, when coming up with a GeForce GTX 550 Ti based graphics card that packs no less than 4096 MB of memory on-card. The company thinks that adding four times the normal amount of memory that runs at half the speed, DDR3 instead of GDDR5, could somehow spice up the specs sheet. Carrying the product code VGA-550-C1-4096, the card's DDR3 memory runs at 1066 MHz (2133 MHz effective) across a 128-bit wide memory interface, while the GeForce GTX 550 Ti runs at 900 MHz core. Its 192 CUDA cores are clocked at 1800 MHz. Point of view did not give out images of the card yet, but we understand it has one each of DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI as display connectors, takes power from one 6-pin power connector, and uses a custom fan-heatsink. It is priced as low as 113.34 Euros. Below is a generic picture of a Point of View GTX 550 Ti graphics card.

A bit like the 1GB 8600GT I had.

After all, its their Point Of View!

It has more memory, but I'm sure a 1GB GDDR5 model will kick its ass. Even a 160sp HD 6450 512MB GDDR5 gives my laptop's 400sp HD 5650 1GB DDR3 a run for its money.

Should do well in Photoshop, I guess. Hey, if the price stays the same, they can pack it with as much RAM as they want.

This will work great with WinXp users.

Will they have an AGP model also? haha

This is why i would never buy anything with POV(aka POS) on it, this brand is gimmick.

This will please the 'look at how much memory my graphics card has- it must be so powerful' crowd and very few others.

I'm going to buy two of these cards for sli....
Imagine how jealous you guys will be when i hold all the graphics power!
8gb of gddr3......oh yeah!

What.A.Waste. Period

Just trying to use up old stock of DDR3 chips, methinks. Like shops in Britain are still selling FX5200's.

You guys don't even know what your talking about. This would smoke 2x 6970 in xfire. It has 4gb of Vram!!!!! Don't you guys know that Vram is all that matters these days.

....wait his will result in ... no no... perhaps the.....no no .....if it were 1999....no no. Ah ha extra memory no extra calories !!! Genius pov simply genius.

Remember: People are stupid. 4GB > 3GB so therefore this is better than a GTX590. Probably less likely to explode too.

Marketing strikes again...
It a waste! It's all about memory-bandwidth and on that specification it stinks.

If btarunr didnt lol while puting this in TPU dont call me dj-electric

Seriously, whats next? 8GB GDDR2? I do know that some people need more VRAM for stuff like 3DSMAX and working with crapton of polygons but when your core is GTX550Ti then i wish you luck

Really? Really? Why o Why.... If you are going to playing on that high of a res.... to use 4gb of memory.... why would you be buying a GTX 550Ti?

ppl who keep this site running NEED these.

It's so useless, Its amazing:laugh:
