I will have a new motherboard coming in and it has no PS2 connections on it and i need one for my keyboard,my question is:will using an adapter add some sort of latency or have ANY negative effects?

The speed of PS/2 is slower than USB...but as long as you dont type ultra fast speed on keyboard im sure it will be fine hhe

Its fine, but if you can, buy a USB keyboard, so you can plug it directly

Thanks for the quick replay,i have decided to buy a USB keyboard as it will cost me about the same as an adapter.

really when did PS/2 adaptors get that expensive? use to be able to grab them for $1-2 at a local shop

9$ here, can only find one that has both keyboard and mouse in it with some kind of active switch.
