I placed my psu up instead of down (fan is point up not down) and because its facing up the fan wont spin. the case has really good air flor

front 2 x 120mm (IN)
bottom 1 x 120 (IN)
side 1 x 120 (this blos right onto the gpu) (IN)
top 3 x 120 (1 on true the other 2 out the top) (OUT)
rear 1 x 120 (OUT)

So the case gets good airflow. i can jerry rig it to were i have a fan ontop of it but i am trying to go for insane cable management.

I just dont want to kill the psu.

It has happened before were it was facing down and it got stuck. it was really hot but then again there wasn't good airflow in the RF/lian-li case.

What do you think?

So cus its upside down the fan wont spin?

Is something stopping it? Maybe you should RMA? My PSU works either way up.

Good case flow or not, Id never run a PSU without the fan spinning, cus you cant guarantee flow through the PSU otherwise.

it just seems stuck. Ive already rma'd it once. it just died one day.

I could stick a 120 on top of the PSU to keep it cool. i got 4 more 120's somewhere.

well if you dont want to RMA it, open it up and either replace the fan inside or find out if there is anything "dropping" into the way of the fan.

I would still RMA, if it was mine. That isnt right at all that the fan only works if the PSU is oriented a certain way.

crap :( this mushkin psu doesn't like me i guess

so ive been running the PSU without the fan just to see how it would operate and it is really cool still :O

i stuck a dynex fan that does 75cfm over it anyway. this comp is CRAZY cool

Does your case have a vent below the PSU for when is mounted upside down?(fan at bottom)

If not you should do what I have done, cut some holes/hole... I'll post some pix of what i have done.

Here's what I did to my 900

I blew a couple caps from a dead fan. Id be careful man! Smoked like crazy!

well like i said i have a fan blowing in it now but the stock fan it comes with doesn't work anymore for some reason the way the psu is.

IMHO Id keep a close eye on it.;)

i'll check it every once in a while and post back in a few days

If ya have a pyrometer, it be the best way to check for temps if ur not sure

ohh yeah it does but the fan is on the top side not bottom

if the fan doesn't work up-side-down, then try my idea? That way you get your cable management the way you want, along with proper PSU cooling? It could work rite? You might have to raise the case to fit the fan, but it's a good idea non the less.:toast:
