All,

My voltages are way low in Speedfan and my system doesn't work right as well. I haven't run any business apps, but game emulators like Dolphin and PCSX don't work right at all. Games that should be @ constant 60 FPS, aren't. I know the PSU is fine because I used it in my last system and it worked just fine with normal voltage readings. Ever since I put it in the new build though, the voltages have been too low from the start. Do I need to replace the motherboard or is there a way I can fix this? Here are the readings and see the attached screenshot.

Vcore1: 1.01V -12V: -4.13V
Vcore2: 2.11V -5V: -0.78V
+3.3V: 1.57V +5V: 5.54V
+5V: 6.85V Vbat: 3.15V
+12V: 4.74V

thx all

worked 100% in my old PC, as soon as I put it in the new one though, I see messed up voltage readings though.

SpeedFan has never been correct for me in regards to PSU voltages. Look in your bios, or get out the multimeter for a more accurate reading.

In a state of flux...
My PSU +12v reads as 9.5v or something similar...never gave me one issue lol

Only real way to test a PSU is with hardware, not software. :)

What erocker said...

Those programs are not accurate, trust your bios.
They may be alright to reference, you need to use a multimeter or a good psu test unit, if you have real doubts.:)

Everyone will read different, usually.

Those voltage readings don't look so good either 95Viper.

I checked my BIOS, I only saw a few voltage readings for the CPU and DIMM, that's it.

Can't pop for a multimeter right now either.

Don't trust those software readings, they are bogus; in most cases.

Heck, if you compare different programs, some read 12v right and some don't. Some will read fans running at 60,000 rpms and some don't. ETC.

Actual physical readings and testing are the way to go; meters and test equipment.:)

Replace the PSU, WTF is HEC ORION

hec HP585D RETAIL 585W ATX12V Power Supply - Po...

It is probably that power supply. We use them at work all the time for clients to replace blown power supplies in pre-builts.

They aren't great power supplies, but they aren't terrible either, but I wouldn't put one in a high load computer, his should be fine.

SpeedFan has never been correct for me in regards to PSU voltages. Look in your bios, or get out the multimeter for a more accurate reading.

I was just going to say this. If those voltages were right, the computer wouldn't even turn on...
