Just did the worst mistake of my life. Went ahead and used this on my main editing rig (3080), and now I'm stuck in BSOD loop. Tried windows restore, can't access safe mode (boot). What should I do? I need my rig working tomorrow evening (latest/deadline). I'll also post this in another forum. As I updated the VGA BIOS at the same time (everything was correct), says missmatch, doesn't find GPU in BIOS (ASUS BIOS "GPU BIOS ver: Please plug in a genuine GPU") or something like that. Tried flashing the backup I made (made two actually). It won't boot even on silent mode (silent bios). Which one is to blame, this tweak or the flashing? Obviously something wrong as it says missmatch (but how? I used the backup?). Is there default BIOS files / command parameters to use? Like I used the default -6 as the rest don't work. I appreciate any help. Willing to pay even. Okay, that might be against the rules. But! I'm desperate. Running out of time. And yup, was running ASUS TUF 3080 OC (VER 1), 3900XT, 64GB of RAM CL16. Perfectly fine before. Dunno Why on earth did I do that on my main rig at time like this. Please don't remove this post even though it's on "wrong" thread as it kinda belongs in here too. Both kinda. I need help x.x Truly!

Seems like you brick the GPU/bios probably unsuccessful bios flashing or maybe you used wrong bios....the GPU most likely ain't dead but you gonna need to do bios flashing again also you gonna need to use integrated GPU(mobo or cpu) or if you don't have that then some other GPU as your primary GPU and then this "bricked"card as your secondary also you probably gonna need to move that broken card in other PCIe slot if you going to use other working GPU as primary....GL

Swap the video card with your 'non main rig' and then work on it without urgency.

I've managed to boot into Linux. It's something to do with Windows. GPU doing fine I think. It still shows missmatch on 2 things though. Is there a way to fix that? And what do I do with the Windows? Running Windows 10. I think it's the modified installation of drivers that I did with the program.

Can't do that. Probably. Using the 3080 as a renderer & my old GPU is slow. I probably should. But can't still boot into Windows. Linux works fine, but I can't do anything with it.

Shouldn't a bricked card just refuse to work like black screen etc? I can boot into different things, but never able to get into Windows. Something f'd up for real. "System thread exception not handled" is the one BSOD I get (atm) & it happens straight when it starts to load into Windows (not once gotten into login screen & safe boot just reboots the PC without actually going into safe mode).

Depends really.....When you logged in the Linux did linux system recognized that GPU as RTX 3080 or something like standard vga display adapter?
P.S.Also after you did bios flashing on your GPU did card worked normally after first computer restart?

Yeah it did launch! Only after used the custom driver installation thing it refused to launch afterwards. Dunno where I f'd up. Now running Manjaro for a while to research this (was the fastest to install & configure). Is it possible to flash the BIOS with Linux? I checked the "original" BIOS update from ASUS & it's only available for Windows. Would it fix this? I bet not. Probably. I somehow need to remove the driver files & such from Windows with Linux. Especially the files the modded installation changed. I kinda hope the creator would see this thread & help a bit. There has to be a way (without reformatting).

If you happen to have links for the original BIOS somewhere can you drop them here? I'd love to use the ASUS one, but no can do when it's .exe

I guess so you can used Nvidia NvFlash in Linux and I reckon that the bios .rom file is the same for both systems no difference there....'tho personally I never flashed cards in linux...GL
P.S.You should always save first your original bios rom file before you attempt bios flashing.....
anyway here is the LINK with all Asus RTX 3080 10Gb TUF OC bios files from techpowerup database
P.S.SWhat Custom Driver installation? What kind of drivers you tried to install?Did the card worked after your bios flashing in some 3d apps or you just browse around in 2d as you can do that with standard VGA display adapter?

I did save it. It just seems that the missmatch doesn't go away even with the original file (backed up before flashing & also got older one from last year). Is there a fix for that? Or do I even need to care? Of course it did work. The NVCleanstall? Or something like that. It f'd up my system I think. Downloaded from this site.

To more add to my pain. The PC works. Now running windows on it on a secondary disk. How does one remove the drivers from the old installation? I can't afford spending weeks installing everything back (also a lot of transferring serial numbers or such in some apps & idk if it's even possible on some of them).

Is there something bad about the missmatch thing? It's only on the last 2 or 3 options. I'll check later which ones they were. What does it even mean? And how was it missmatch when it was "official" rom? Or bios? Dunno anymore. Goodnight xx Too tired to fight with this computer today. Been doing this for 9+ hours now.

Now I really don't have any idea what actually is wrong with your PC ,yours explanations are confusing at best.....IF your GPU worked normally after you did bios flashing then your bios flashing was successful and you don't need to do that again...also @eidairaman1 posted above NvFlash with Board id Mismatch Disabled IF this is your actual problem but now I also assume that you did something wrong to your system.....GL
