R580 Xt2

My friend bought X1900gt from sapphire with R580 XT2 core.

Afcourse i would like to unlock it if it is possible but i cant find out nothing about this core. Is it unlockabile? I know that R580XL can unlock and normal cant but XT2?

Rabbit bios doesnt says anything about locked pipeline, aswell riva tuner.

Start ATITool and tell me what are the values for: GB_PIPE_SELECT (only this will be shown).

It says nothing about pipe select only normal information. How many MB, that is pcie, chip name and that stuff.

I was looking for config_substrate_fuses but it is not shown. That also i tried in riva tuner

That "R580 XT2" might even be a RV570 XT.

Hi, I'm new here and i been reading about the X1900 rev.2 from Sapphire and i just got my gfx card delivered to my house today. So it's possible for my gfx card to have 16 pipelines?

So by flashing the bios and i'd get the 16 pp (48 pixel shader processors)? Is there a high chance that my gfx card could mess while doing this? Thx.

The X1900GT tends to mess up easily when flash to 16 pipes...

I have PCI card, so i can restore to earlier bios. If i flash it to xt bios, and it is not working, can i restore it without hardware damage?

X1900GT (with R580) are usually cores with defective pipelines, so flashing it and enable them back can kill that card all together. :shadedshu

mortal. my X1900GT says XT2 also.. but in the early days when i first got it it said XL. so its ether the ATiTool, or some driver.. ether way it still works and run smoothly

You cant unlock pipeline.You must have r580PRO chip to unlock,but there was only a couple of that on x1900gt (3) and that video card could unlock...That is 3 cards on the world that we know for it.Those chip are just using other name and didn`t pass test for 575mhz for core and working on 515mhz (i think)

The difference can be the R580pro are overheating chips and R580XL are defective pipeline chips.
If the pipelines are simply defective (broken) re-enable them will just kill your card.

I explained to you on PCE forum .Those are the same chip,probably pro doesnt have defective (broken) pipelines and xl does.If you flash xl bios on pro cards,or pro bios on xl you will kill the card.That 10 lines more is probably beacuse of digital voltage regulation

Neither.There is several chip.PRO (doesnt have defective pipelines),XL and LE (have 4 defective pipelines) and XT2 (4 defective pipelines and didnt pass 575mhz clock speed test).XT2-you have that chip.Actually that is xl,just it is renamed.Why? They are using on pcb with digital voltage regulator and beacuse failed clock test.Probably that is why

Impossible.You must get arround 2.0v.That is probably gpu voltage
