I'd like to know if it fits the vega 64 reference design... doubtful but that would be cool.

Well I mean it has to cool >300w worth of heat yet again.

Card looks absolutely massive for the performance we are getting out of it. God I hope there are some major upsides on release.

You think they fixed the primitive shading or whatever other promised vega 1st gen features?

"Next Generation Geometry" or "Geometry Fast Path" both are also tied to Primitive Shaders anyway.
Those are suppose to be what sets Vega apart from other GCN, to by pass the 4 Geometry limit.

Hopefully they've learned from vega 1 and they dont over-volt the shit out of vega 2. Vega 1 runs so much easier at 225w~250w. 300w cards are for water.

I would be happy if I could run raytracing with the card the showed rat tracing demos with. I mean it was only like $1k on release and now it plays Blurays.

Hopefully not the same bullshit as Nvidia with their difficult to disassemble RTX founders edition heatsink design. The screw heads are obscured by a glued plastic section.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it fits, or if its similar enough to mount a v64 waterblock similar to how RTX TITAN cards fit 2080ti blocks and Titan Xp cards fit 1080ti waterblocks.
Do you guys think there'll be third party versions?
Definitely, this is the next gen flagship, and it's not like the Titan cards from Nvidia. I'd watch out for a big beefy card like a strix Vega 7 being a top contender. These cards probably won't challenge 2080ti territory, but I wouldn't be too shocked to see a version with 72+ CUs at 2080ti class.

A card like this really deserves a waterblock + you get single slot goodness as a bonus!
Agree, waterblock is a must... but as an EATX case owner I don't care how thick my graphics card is...

Its big, but with a TDP of 300 watts + overclock for some people. It needs a beefy cooler to stay cool and keep noise levels down.

Electricity comes from the wall... why nobody complains when Nvidia releases a 250W TDP card?

Because nVidia a least provides performance to justify that power consumption.

Yes because Nvidia can provide the performance vs. the high TDP. AMD lack that part so far. Pascal has been a really power efficient cards. Take my card. Even at a TPD of 250 watt + 50 watt TDP with power target at max. It ilde at only 11-13 watts (lower class pascal cards ildes even lower).

I don’t think there will be 3rd party cooler design since AMD is selling these directly this time. But we shall see!
