Radeon extremely low market share, only 8% in Q3 2022?

What do you want from AMD to improve, so that makes you buy a Radeon?

AMD needs to prove that just doubling parts of RNDA2 wasn't going to work with the new "double operations per-clock". The new matrix part to the raytracing unit was the only way to get better prefromance. along with changing parts of it.

RNDA 2 with the new "double operations per-clock" with 2 times the shader count. Along with twice the RT cores in each shader block & 50% more R.O.P's.

10240 shaders
192 rops
160 compute units
320 RT unit's
640 TMu's

They have to prove that those specs had no chance at beating RDNA3 in prefromance, on 5nm.

It looks like RNDA3's Ratio to raytracing enable vs pure rasterization looks worse than what RDNA2 is. Estimated from slids for it's RT prefromance it's 1-5% behind ampere in raytracing, while being estimated to be close to 10-15% behind a RTX 4090 in pure raserization.

The hell, they need better marketing, and less trolling by competition fanbois.

What i find odd is that AMD don't speak of the IGP on there new CPU's, even though it's weak it can prove very useful even more so if there is a issue with the system.

Or even if you don't need a dedicated GPU or cannot afford the one you want at that time.

It's weak, yes, but only by AMD's APU standards. Compared to Intel it's no worse than most of their iGPUs. Honestly, from my limited experience with AM5 builds, the built-in IGP is good for older or lighter (e-sports) titles. Fallout 4, Skyrim, Fortnite, Rocket-league, Dota2, CS:GO, all good or at least playable at 1080p.

I just checked - No, it won't run Cyberpunk at 4K.
720p30 with FSR balanced isn't the experience you want, but it's not unplayable in a pinch.

Yeah, 2 RDNA2 CUs and DDR5.
Bear in mind that the Vega3 in the Athlon 3000G was no joke for such an anemic low-budget APU. There are a few youtube channels that liked to try AAA titles on them to see how bad they looked by the time you dialled down enough settings and resolution to make the framerate usable. They're not great, obviously, but also far from useless.

Maybe stoping to trying locking card like Nvidia for we can edit bios/flash and OC easily like in R9 290x time ... all high and card have dual bios but nobody use that feature really since we cannot mod anythings.
This is more uefi secure boot pushing all vendors for signed images than anything, so very unlikely to happen frankly.

How about Nvidia fix their overhead on their drivers back to the RTX 2080 ti, Not just the RTX 4090.
They already have? Just wasn't marketed for all cards. TPU here pretty much proved such.

Also these poll options are pretty awful. There isn't an image quality difference, hasn't been for centuries, and if there was who would want worse? I for one won't even be voting here.

I doubt AMD is looking at a possible bankruptcy. They make more money from their CPU division than from their discrete GPU business. I'm not even sure that the US government could allow a bankruptcy of AMD. That would leave Intel in a monopoly on CPUs.

Hi,

But both amd and nvidia miss miners.

Well, maybe ARM can be considered as a competitor, and also VIA since it owns an x86 license.

AMD needs something else.

Maybe to drop the Radeon brand which carries so much negativism and is unknown for the large majority of users.
AMD needs to start everything from zero and a new beginning, maybe as a start-up with brand new reputation, strategy, products and innovations that attract more buyers.

I switched to Radeon at the beginning of the year; mainly because I found an insane deal on an RX 5700 XT. I also upgraded to an RX 6800 XT in June because my financial situation was pretty good (it still is, but not as good as it was then). Though, both cards were bought secondhand.

AMD's Windows drivers still need work, but if I end up switching to Linux in the future, AMD gives a much better experience there than NVIDIA.

I personally still think hardware raytracing is a gimmick, though that may change when Blender 3.5 releases with hardware RT support on AMD. I mainly care about rasterization performance in older DX11 and DX9 games (which is why I'm disappointed in Intel).

I currently have no plans to switch back to NVIDIA any time soon, though my testing system does currently have a GTX 1070 (soon to be replaced by my 5700 XT eventually) in it, and I've thought about getting a Tesla K80 for my server to mess with AI stuff.

I'm probably going AMD this time around. Nvidia screwed up and now has too much inventory. They can choke on it lol. Not a fanboy but damn they've pissed me off.
