Radeon RX 580 Idle GPU 100% Usage

As was said earlier if you’re not using ReLive don’t install it. It’s a process related to it.

It doesn't matter if you say say no to that part of the installer the process still runs.

The only way to fix it right now is to delete or rename the file or you can kill the process in the task manager on a regular basis but I got sick of doing that.

I will also probably have to delete the same file again every time I update the driver, right?

I figured this out, or at least the cause of the issue. If I end the amddvr.exe process the imaginary load vanishes.

The process automatically restarts itself, but the load doesn't return. This obviously has something to do with the changes made to ReLive to improve performance. Hopefully AMD patch it in the next driver drop.
You can clearly see it’s part of ReLive it’s right there in the description. I don’t install ReLive and I don’t have that process.

I would believe so i'm going to upgrade from from 18.3.1 to 18.3.3 and will let you know if it comes back.

Yup it comes back

this is not just a hardware acceleration browser related issue btw. I'm also experiencing this after watching videos on media player classic + SVP. It remains stuck at 100% load. The only fix at least for me is to manually terminate amddvr.exe in the task manager. And no I didnt install amd relive.

It’s pretty well established that anything that causes a load on the gpu and forces a clock state change can make this issue crop up. Thankfully I haven’t had it with neither VLC nor the Windows Store Netflix app yet.

Perhaps try VLC if you aren’t too committed to MPC? (I dropped MPC for 4K playback issues)

Just go into safe mode and delete amddvr.exe

Thank you guys, and the truth is, the process loads the video card 100 percent.

I didn't know what to think until I saw you.

I deleted it.

but after reboot, when you close such disaster, I close amd turion service and GPU failure, then everything becomes normal.

by the way, the problem was noticed when I started playing Directx 12, in Directx 11 this was not observed.

And for red directx 12 advantage.

As I mentioned earlier. The problem is solved. But I really hope that AMD will solve this problem.

Getting the same issue on a vega64.
Happened a couple times (A few months ago) in Witcher 3, but recently it has been doing that every time CSGO is running. The card gets stuck on 100% and ends up throttling and developing color artifacts on the screen.
Ending the ReLive Host through task manager doesn't solve it, restarting the PC seems to be the only way.

Use drivers from september

Tried every driver since august. Deleting amddvr.exe doesnt help either.

I have seen this issue on vega too since the Christmas crimson update, driver issue, Amd hopefully will do something about it soon.
