Radeon VII and Eyefinity with none Displayport monitors

They're cheap now as long as you don't need dual-link DVI. 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz is single link.

You can try passive...

But active will definitely work...

StarTech lists ridiculous prices on their website...check the model numbers against your retailers.

One of them can be a simple HDMI->DVI-D cable:
There's no caveats with that one. Just make sure it's long enough.

For the Dell U2410, just get a male-male DisplayPort cable. Any will do ,so long as it isn't Reduced Data Rate (RDR), so whatever the local stores has will probably be your best option.
For one of the other monitors, use male-male HDMI->DVI-D cable which you should also be able to source locally.
For the last monitor...the passive or active adapter above or grab a new DisplayPort monitor.

Hi FordGT90Concept, thanks for the reply. Do you recommend I use the HDMI output? Would it be better to use the 3 Displayport outputs, or would I need two active adapters/cables if I went that route?

HDMI is the cheapest way to connect DVI because they're the same fundamental technology. HDMI->DVI will only support up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz though.

DisplayPort to DVI requires adapters.

I am very happy with my choise of cables, though going above 75Hz one would need a active solution. I chose displayport to HDMI and is very happy with the result. I found that Eyefinity works on all new AAA titels and love it car games and Division 2 type games.

I also have triple monitor setup and using my old Eizo monitors as side panels and my Acer as main/central monitor,no problems at all using it display to dvi converter for two side panels with my GPU RX 480 everything working nice&smooth in eyefinity!!!

Hi Zyll Goliath, can you please give me a link to the adapter you're using? Is the adapter you're using passive or active? I'd really love to know if I have to spend extra money on an active adapter.

I still haven't ordered yet. Already got the graphics card on Friday, but don't want to install it yet as I need two monitors at a minimum, don't think I can relegate myself to one monitor as I'm used to using at least 2 monitors for the past few years. I'm not going to install the RX 5700XT until I get cables/adapters.

Also, I assume the resolution of your monitors are 1080p? Can you use different resolution monitors in Eyefinity, or do they all have to be the same resolution? Can you tell me how you have all the Monitors connected? Are they all using Displayport to DVI, or does the Acer have a Displayport connection and it's just the two Eizo monitors that have Displayport to DVI connections?

Actually my central/main monitor is 1080p and side monitors are 1280x1024 when I am in eyefinity I am using 4620x1024(with bazel correction) or sometimes 4480x1080(but then some part are missing on side panels) so yeah you can use different monitors resolution and its looking great in gaming as far as you don't mind 60hz refresh rate, also is easier and better to do that with AMD GPU's but it is possible to do with Nvidia also via some programs and force it(because Nvidia surround only doing same res.monitors) ....my DP to DVI convertors are some cheap ones I paid them few bucks(used)as I remember and they are working totally fine......+ I even using DP to HDMI converter for my Oculus rift and everything working totally fine and without issues when all of this is connected to my GPU......Now I wish I have some money for card like yours or Vega 56/64 but even my RX 480(OC) still doing more then a decent job in all games that I am playing with few tweaks in graphic settings ..........

P.S. My Acer monitor is using normal HDMI port/cable and only side Eizo monitors using DVI(DP to DVI)+rift that is connected on DP(DP to HDMI)

Hi Zyll Goliath, thanks for that reply and detailed explanation. I guess that is even better to choose an AMD card if you can do Eyefinity with different resolution Monitors. I last did Nvidia surround years ago with my Nvidia cards, so I thought you always had to use the same resolution monitors. Pretty cool to know that you don't with AMD. I'm definitely going to give it a go and see how I like it before deciding on whether to upgrade to a single gaming monitor.

Also, can you give me an example of the adapters you used? I link to something so that you can show me.

Are the DP to DVI adapters you have something like this https://www.vtechindustries.com.au/...pins-male-to-dvi-24-1-pins-female-at-dpdvi-mf or closer to this https://www.pccasegear.com/products/38499/astrotek-displayport-to-dvi-male-female-adapter

I also found one of these. Not much info, so not sure if it truly is active https://www.pccasegear.com/products/22692/astrotek-active-displayport-to-dvi-adapter

What do you other guys think in regards to those adapters? For the HDMI, I'm just going to get a HDMI to DVI male to male cable.

Also, Zyll, when you use the 4480x1080 resolution, what part of the side monitors is missing? On the left and right, or top and bottom image on monitors? I'd assume parts from the top and bottom of monitor images are missing?

What program/s do you use if you want to do it with Nvidia cards that have a different resolution?

From some reason I can not open all of those links you send.....so the DP to DVI adapter looks like this:

dp to dvi.jpg

a classic converter nothing special I believe I paid for both something like 5$ total...they are already used but perfectly fine condition.....

You have a lot of options in advanced configurations for eyefnity so that you can choose and configure easy anything that you prefer for example resize desktop:
resize desktop.jpg

maybe you will need some time to figure all of it....maybe sometimes it will not work perfectly at first then you going to need to repeat procedure and get frustrated but in general when you figure all out triple monitor setup from my experience is way better on AMD cards....When I am using 4480x1080(sometimes is even higher res. with bazel correction)on my side panels top and bottom image just a bit is missing and you can tweak&adjust your monitor position in settings.....atm I prefer using 4620x1024 with bazel correction so nothing is missing......Also as I remember on Nvidia cards I could use nvidia surround but then I could have only some silly res.(something like 3820x1024)so in that case is better to use programs like Windowed Borderless Gaming and force res like 4480x1080 in your games....It was working good only problem was no bazel correction options....

P.S.Yeah I am ONLY turning on Eyefinity when I am playing games otherwise I am using standard triple monitor(in Windows) setup,I prefer that for browsing the web or gaming on rift as I can open separately programs or browser on each monitor.....and yeah when you get used to work on multiple monitors ain't going to be easy to get back on only 1....GL
