Radeon X850 PRo > X850XT/PE? - ATI Tool Fuse screenshot included..

Hi,

Just picked up a Connect3D Radeon X850Pro. Read that some of them can be unlocked to the XTPE with 16 pipes aslong as you replace the stock fan?

Here's the fuse settings from ATI Tool....

Have i been lucky?

Would i be able to unlock to 16 pipes without replacing the stock fan?

I've read just unlocking the pipes with a modded x850pro bios will increase performance 10-15%. I'd rather do that atm than flashing straight to an x850XTPE.

Will i be alrite flashing with the X850Pro Modded bios so i go to 16 pipes but speeds stay at 500/500. Just not going to replace the stock cooler yet so dont want to flash to xtpe. Is the performance difference from 12 to 16 pipes that much?

How do i back up my original bios incase something goes wrong.

Use ATITool to save (dump) your original BIOS.

Yeah ive saved the original bios and put it on floppy disk along with atiflash so i have a copy.

I have the utility on disk and booted it and was about to click the modded X850 Pro with 16 pipes bios as i only have stock cooling. I just havent got the bottle to flash a new graphics card i just got yesterday

thanks dolf, that flash utility is ace. Now showing 16 pipes in ATI Tool.

But now ATI Tools 3d view doesnt work and when i go to display properties x850Pro Secondry is selected?
