All I can say is f$%K yeah! :rockout:

During QuakeCon 2010, a placeholder page for id Software's Rage appeared on Valve's Steam service suggesting that the title will be using Steamworks for DRM, much like publisher Bethesda's other upcoming titles, Fallout: New Vegas and Brink.
It is curious that a page should appear so far out from its release date of September 13, 2011--which isn't even listed on the Steam page--and does not yet appear on any other digital download services.

While the DRM used in Rage has not yet been revealed, lead designer Matt Hooper recently told Shacknews that he "thinks people will be pleased with the direction we're going," with regards to DRM. Hooper told us that id Software would wrap [the DRM announcement] in our multiplayer announcement."

Of the DRM solutions, Steamworks is generally regarded as one of the most acceptable to PC gamers, though it does have its critics.

SO is this like the old rage game?

And I am one of them. :(

Another game I won't be buying until it is $10 or less.

hopefully it only uses steam works and not 20 other thing tacked on like GTA4 :toast:

Um no.

Anyway I confirmed it!

Sucks for you.

If there is any of that most be online at all times, and if your DSL resets while your online bullshit. Mark another win for PS3 cause it won't have that kind of BS along with it.

Powered by id’s cutting-edge new id Tech 5 engine, new Megatexture technology brings the vast wasteland to life in never-before- possible detail with action running at an astounding 60 frames per second.

.....:twitch: 60FPS on any pc that can boot steam?

No. Thats not how Steam works.

No but expect it to run 60 fps on the minimum requirements.

To bad my connection is to slow and shitty to download a game which i would imagine is massive.

Definitely going to aim to get the boxed retail version.

Good news on the Steamworks front. Could be much, much worse. I'm assuming it'll activate and you'll be able to play offline or something like that for single player.

Steamworks is much less invasive than SecuROM or Ubi's 100% connection BS, it's just a shame you can't remove the key and sell the game after you've played it.

Another post apocalyptic game that is not Fallout 3 or Borderlands. I better wait for the sale on Steam for $10 on Christmas where they will get a whole bunch of my money.

I think you will be buying this one way before that. This is iD software.

I think you will be trying the Razer1911 free "demo" this one way before that. This is iD software.

I fixed it for myself. I need to "demo" it first. :)

Requiring online activation for a retail box game, even if it's Steam, is unacceptable IMO. It's going to be cracked no matter what they do, so why screw over the paying customers?

because there are still people who can download pirated games, yet do not know how to unpack or apply crack
