So i have bought a pc, it has a ryzen 5 2600, Rx vega 56, Aorus b450 elite and other decent stuff. I bought 2x8gb 3000mhz gskill ram and when i put the 2 sticks right in the motherboard, it said 8gb and it was stuck on 2133mhz. I then tested them and put only 1 stick in. One stick was perfectly fine and i could change the mhz to 2933 but the other stick did not boot up, the pc was running but no screen. The prices have gone up a bit and i do not want to spend more money on pc parts because i already had other problems. If there are some tricks i can do to make it work please tell me, thank you.

ps: its not the slot on the motherboard, i tried it.

Ram link: https://www.amazon.de/G-Skill-AEGIS-F4-3000C16D-16GISB-Memory-2x8GB/dp/B01HFR8R2S/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=gskill&qid=1617709211&sr=8-3

EDIT: I CLEANED THE RAM STICK AND TRIED IT IN 2 DIFFERENT SLOTS, IT DOES NOT BOOT UP EVEN WITH THE OTHER STICK IN. THANK YOU FOR THE HELP, I THINK I JUST HAVE TO BUY A NEW STICK.

You have to enable XMP to get the ram speeds up to 3200

On asus that feature is called "D.O.C.P"

Install one stick, enable DOCP, reboot, power down PC, install second stick - should be good times

i already tried turning on xpm with the two sticks but nothing worked, my ram sticks are recommended to go up to 3000mhz. But i go 2933 because that is what on my motherboard says. Also sorry i meant gigabyte

Return the kit for replacement. It's 98% certain that the one module is bad.

But if you really want to be extra sure (if you haven't done this already):

1) Boot with the good stick
2) Load UEFI defaults
3) Swap for bad stick and try to boot with module in each slot in turn

Can always make an axe out of it. Ram PCB can be sharpened for +2 damage.

Have you tried cleaning the ram contacts on the memory module which you think is faulty. ..Other than that, it sounds like it's faulty.

I sometimes use silicone oil on contacts, seems to work well.
