truth be known, me too. That's why it's funny...

It's not hard at all.

(also, I did post with my screenshots saying all I did was enable the XMP profile) :pimp:

XMP doesn't work on my board at all. Just got a handful of primary timings that don't all work...

Yeah, you know, my chip 100W at stock. At 3.7, that jumps up to 174W. So cooling is a big thing when pushing all cores at near max OC.

I could get as high as 370w at the wall under cpu only load. Not as scientific as what you do to check power consumption, but it's what I had available. That was at 4.2ghz 1.6v.

God 1.6V what was the temps?

Those are my temps at stock under original H100. Perhaps that is the source of my clocking issues.

370W is crazy. I thought the ~175W I say was maybe pushing the limit.

I guess that makes watercooling worthwhile for OC long-term.

Again that's a healthy water loop. 370w was also at the wall on the back end of a 650w platinum unit and a 1070 at idle.

FYI, we heard from (elmor) that it throttles at 95C.... AMD told us 75C was the max... but not sure why they want 20C headroom (stability?).

That voltage is pretty much what it is on idle but CPU-Z doesn't quite report it correctly.

For example I set mine to 1.4 but CPU-Z shows it as 1.55.

This is my vcore on idle, stock config.

Once overclocked with 1.4vcore, the report from CPU-Z says otherwise.

The AMD Ryzen Master software on the other hand reports it close, but slightly under.

When I disabled the XFR and applied with -0.100 VCore offset my Idle voltage dropped to 0.620 Idle and during stress test in CPUZ Vcore goes up to 1.55V at Max.

On the other hand I was able to push my TrindenZ to 2x 1333 Mhz but this Crosshair VI refuse to accept 2x 1500 Mhz under any circumstances.

Hm, so 1800x scores 1600ish in Cinebench?

While not bad at all, it costs me 670 CAD for 1800k. E5-2683v3 costs me 450 CAD.

I guess replacing my main rig with Ryzen is unrealistic at the moment. I think I will look to Ryzen 1700 instead and replace my media rig instead once proper mATX options are out.

What does your V3 chip get again I finally upgraded my 2650V4 in my server to a 2683V4

The memory holes that people have reported and the issues with good core clocks and poor memory clocks make me wonder if AMD didn't use some GDDR5 style link training in these chips that is causing as many issues as it might fix until they get the bugs worked out.

What did you do with the 2650 v4?

Selling it to a guy I work with

It scores 1690 ~ 1710. Hard to beat the value at 350 USD. And it's not even an ES.

Ah so yours will turbo correctly. Mine will only boost one core to 3ghz, this is technically only a 1.6ghz ES chip. Good news is it uses like no power lol

Yep, it turboes all threads to 2.5ghz on rendering. A single core will turbo to 3ghz if I recall correctly.

I don't think mine kicks up that far under full load.

Got the raisin. Funny to think that i had to get a new block since my last one I bought 5 months ago I was assuming i would never need AMD mounting holes.
