random system shutdown with fans running at full speed

Try your gf's GPU. If it gets better, then get new GPU asap. You were frying that GPU for a long time.
ill try this right now and see

But don't let your gf suffer too long!

I was on a lengthy fone call ... Yes yes dont worry she wont suffer hehehe. Now ill change gpus

EDIT - guys i switched GPUS the temps on this card when idle is crazy cool, altho right from the start flickering lines are showing all over the screen, il paste the screenshot below, is there are quick fix? i tried installing drivers (not from official website but from 'snappy driver installer' program) but the issue remains, whats causing this? the gpu is
GPU - nvidia geforce GTX 1660: zotac gtx 1660 twin fan
temps
unns gpu temps idle.JPG

weird lines
screen.JPG

OK so the flickering lines dont appear in the screenshot, anyways, i reseated my gfs gpu and the strange lines appear way less now, maybe its some seating issue.
one more thing i just want to mention here, since the day i assembled my pc, there is a little problem with the alignment of the motherboard and the cabinet itself and becoz of that few usb ports i cant even use from the start since the usb ports do not align themselves with the holes in the cabinet. I DIDNT ever had the need to use them anyways but it makes me think that is that what is causing the components to fail somehow???

conclusion for now is, that my gfs gpu is working at way low temps although dota 2 is still running at very very crappy frames no matter the graphic settings....(i will put her gpu back in her pc and test the games performance there again)
what shud i do ppl? shud i get a new gpu now?

guys how is this gpu??? is it good?

Flickering may be caused by monitor, signal interference, drivers, GPU output problem ... did you reinstall drivers when you switched to 1660?
There's no point in buying RTX 3050 if you already own RTX 2060. RTX 3050 is a lot slower than what you already have. Go for used RTX 3070 or used RTX 4060 Ti at least.
Or even Radeon RX 6700 XT would do.

how come rtx 3060 slower than 2060??? i thot that higher the numbers - better the gpu shud be right???
what shud i do then? can u suggest a card from amazon that will work nicely with the motherboard and ram i have?

They said RTX3050 is slower than RTX2060.

That's a 5, not a 6.

You linked to a 3050, not 3060.

Don't get confused by number. It's about the compute units. RTX 2060 has considerably more ROPs and TMUs than RTX 3050, despite having more shaders and transistors.
I've recommended you few GPUs above. Used RX 6700 XT goes for 170-180 €, it has 12 GB VRAM and is way faster than RTX 2060. If you don't care about raytracing, it's a good choice.

What's your budget?

I think i can buy upto 20k rupees gpu and yes i dont care abt raytracing and all that. I will try to find the gpu u mentioned in amazon.in. ill just complete one match of dota 2. M in it right now lol.

Used RX 6700 XT, RTX 3070. If you want a new card, save up and go for RX 9060 XT 8 GB.

RX 6700 XT is EOL, you can't buy new one anymore. That's why I said: buy used one from 2nd hand market.

As for RX 9060 XT, I take it you already bought a new PSU we discussed recently. That PSU will handle RX 9060 XT well.
Look, it's up to you how you value your money. I'd rather save up a bit and go for significant upgrade than slight one.
I'm still not comfortable with recommending 8 GB card to anyone these days ...
If you ever happen to get your hands on RX 9060 XT 16 GB at 350 € or below, go for it.

Because I try to plan for future. 8 GB is becoming a serious problem for newest games these days. Of course, this is my point of view.
If you want to play older games like Dota2, then 8 GB is perfectly fine.

If you really don't care about any performance progress and want to substitute current RTX 2060:
RX 6600 or RTX 2070

If you want to improve performance further:
RX 7600

If you intend do play older games at 1080p and you want to purchase a new card, I'd go for RX 7600 Steel Legend, it's cool and quiet card.
Once again, I'm saying I'd go for used RX 6700 XT. At 160-170 €, it's the best you can get (peformance per $).

the card 6600 is out of stock .... is this the same one??

the white colored gpu looks strange, will this fit in my cabinet really? i think i shud go fir this white one then?

Any RX 6600 would substitute your current RTX 2060 performance-wise.
As for dimensions of the card, you have to measure it yourself.

m thinking abt buying this one
just that i have the same PSU, will this gpu at least work with the PSU i have?

Minimum for RX 7600 is 450W. Get new PSU. Bring flowers to gf, she will try to lure you into bed but ask her for money for PSU instead!

The one i already have is 450w.
This is the one someone suggested
Im tempted to keep using the current psu to save money
