random system shutdown with fans running at full speed

reporting to inform that the issue of display has not happened since i changed the thermal pads and thermal paste, however the hotspot temperature of the gpu has risen to 77 even when im browsing, it spikes to 105 and 106 during gaming, but most of the time it stays in 80s range, i will observe for a few more days and see
Turn off hardware acceleration in web browsers, it's not needed.

just now the display prob occured again, i restarted pc and ran the game Hitman 2, the hotspot temperature is reaching 105. I was playing hitman 2 since past 2 days with no issues.

ok guys i have an observation to share, i once again repasted the GPU and put new thermal pads. This time i properly cut the thermal pads according to the exact size of the mem chips. The temperature of the GPU and the Hotspot reduced greatly, before when i was gaming the hotspot was easily reaching 105-106 just within seconds of loading into the game, now its staying in 70-80 to range and the highest was 90.

However the display issue is still there, the pc display turns off, the game is running in the background and the fans run at full speed. Can it be something else other than GPU??? some people were saying that i could be the PSU. Any help

Look at the change in temps while browsing, just before this even when the PC was idle the GPU hotspot was 77-79 degrees

Also im once again mentioning it here that when this display issue started to occur---- it was happening even when i was NOT gaming, im guessing that this really might be something else than GPU.

Ya in that sense anything can be bad but i dnt think its the monitor, if i dont run just cause 3 and hitman 3 games the display runs all day smooth. U was just playing sota 2 while browser open in the background with no prob. I will go to my hometown for a month and when i return i hope this thread is open, if i have to replace some pc component i need to ask you guys. Happy holidays friends.

Most probably the cooler was not tuching die properly because of thermal pads thickness and/or placement. Or maybe you provided unsufficient amount of paste.

Look, it may be PSU, or the GPU may have degraded over time with such temperatures above 100°C.

Yes, when i return home i hope to replace the correct component. Thanks for your message

Get a better psu

Any 650W 80% Gold, Seasonic has some semi modular PSUs, that fulfill this specification and are not too expensive.
I'd buy 750W or even more, to be future proof. There are no Seasonic PSUs listed on Amazon India website. WTF.
This should be okay: https://www.amazon.in/ASUS-Axial-tech-Protective-Military-Grade-Certification/dp/B0BK54TKB9/ if it's not fake.
Or this one - https://www.amazon.in/MSI-MAG-A750GL-PCIE5-Full-Bridge/dp/B0C7LKLSMD/ - but is way cheaper than ASUS.
Either one will be significant upgrade from your current PSU, quality-wise, efficiency-wise and loudness-wise.

As for your GPU, it's been suffering high temps quite a long time ... I'd replace it as well soon.

Ill check them once back home from work today itself. Thanks for answering. Is it possible that once i buy this new psu the issue of display m facing gets resolved?? Now i rem that i was getting above 105 hotspot temp in gpu....

It is possible, but issues might as well keep occurring. First go for new PSU.

My goodness the difference isi 8k to another one is 11k... Lol shud i get 8k one?

Shutdown with fans maxed out is a thermal shutdown.
I have not read through the 4 pages but your GPU runs at almost 80C on the hotspot at idle? (23W)
Well That’s a massive problem.
Fresh thermal paste and properly putting the card back together should fix it.

I changed the thermal paste, even changed the memory pads. Latest the temp is ok but the hotspot temp goes above 105. Ill run the test once again today evening and see. The full month holiday in between made a big gap.

That MSI PSU is rated as A-tier PSU on PSU tier list, should be good. It uses CHWT platform.

It has to be better in sm way, but i really want to knw what is the cause of the problem im facing this issue. By the way is there a way to know whether this new psu will fit perfectly inside the cabinet i have?? I mean it will be the same size of my current psu?

CX450 as well as MSI MAG A750GL are 150mm x 86mm x 140 mm

Both same size! Okay then. Lets see and hope this fixes something at least. I dont even know how suddenly the gpu started getting overheated.
edit - i wont be able to test it today, too much work, will report back asap thanks guys

i get very poor 25-30-40 fps in dota 2 even in low settings, it really does seem like my GPU is NOT EVEN working, my gfs old pc with old gpu is running this game smoothly at high settings. the gpu is running but seems like its not doing its work properly, moreover there was a random restart just 30 mins ago. No idea what is wrong with the pc.

Try your gf's GPU. If it gets better, then get new GPU asap. You were frying that GPU for a long time.
