I'm trying to trim as much fat as I can in the office I'm working in. Right now they're paying for 5 lines a month and I'm sure there has to be a cheaper solution. 4 lines are for telephones, 1 is for a fax. I've been told that myfax.com is a decent place to start. In regards to the telephone lines, what VoIP options are best and cheapest? Also, might there be any way of keeping the phone number they presently have? They've had this number for years and I'm not sure they'd want to switch if it meant losing it, even to save money monthly.

I know, I'm a smart ass. I just can't help it sometimes. What about that Magic Jack thang? (tho admittedly I know nothing about landline phone tech).

Please explain further. Is it 6 separate lines going to 6 separate phones/faxes or is there some kind of switchboard PBX in between?
