Resizable Bar not working.

I have a TUF-RTX3080-10G-GAMING-PD Graphics card with VBIOS version 94.02.42.40.64 with a build dating back to 2020-11-26, I'm trying to enable resizeable bar. Still, it just won't work, I'm suspecting it's an outdated VBIOS, but when I attempt to update the VBIOS with Asus' RTX3080_V5 file it just says "Your graphics card doesn't need to update VBIOS!". In my motherboard settings, I have enabled Above 4G Decode, and have resizable bar set to "auto" as there is no "enabled" option. CSM is disabled as well, so I don't know. I did a clean install of NVidia drivers with DDU and everything. I have an ASUS TUF B550M-Plus WiFi (Zaku Edition) which had been flashed back in June of this year. The last BIOS build for the motherboard came out in April this year and is still the most up-to-date.

What more can I do in an attempt to remedy this?

Is there some setting within the Nvidia driver app that can enable resizable bar? I know with my 6800 XT with 22.7.1 drivers, the option is there to check if resizable bar is enabled & if I want to turn it on or off.

This what you need to make sure Resizable Bar is functioning as it should

RBAR 2022-10-05 202102.jpg

if any of those are not enabled or supported then RBar will not be enabled

GPUz can tell you which are and are not enabled / supported so if you can post a screenshot from GPUz's advanced tab from the PCIe resizable bar section that would help us determine where or what is not right

Why is rebar support on auto and not enabled?

OP wrote the "enabled" choice isn't available.

Personally I would try to reseat the graphics card, maybe clean the contacts first then try V5 of the VBIOS again.

The vbios is the issue. Have you tried to update to vbios version V4?

Use the NVIDIA control panel to determine if the Re-Size BAR feature is working.
If the Resizable BAR displays Yes on the System Information screen of the NVIDIA Control Panel

Have you checked this?

I haven't the GPU isn't a founder's edition, so I do not know if it will work.

Tried that to no avail.

Nvidia system info says "no" so it isn't working.

If you read the article, there is a short Q&A troubleshooting section at the bottom, it might help you isolate the issue. The information does not apply to Founder-Edition cards exclusively.

So far it all checks out. The OS is not MBR, the BIOS is all set up, the only thing that's really questionable is my GPU VBIOS, but the Asus tool just won't update the VBIOS.

Sorry to hear that, at least we have eliminated a few possibilities, hopefully someone will be able to help.

Are you sure your motherboard is ASUS TUF B550M-Plus WiFi Zaku? I can't find it in the list of the supported motherboards. While your motherboard does support Resize BAR support, there's a specific BIOS minimum version requirement for the RTX 30 series. While it's probably unlikely, but you could try contacting ASUS so they can confirm your motherboard is definitely supported in combination with the RTX 3080. At least you'll rule that out.

Hi. Can you please show the main gpu-z window screenshot so I can get a full device ID to get you the proper rebar VBIOS? Your current VBIOS does NOT have rebar support (2020 VBIOS will not come with rebar)

Resizable BAR requires CPU and motherboard compatibility, and a Resizable BAR SBIOS update. As of March 30th, 2021, the following CPU chipsets and CPUs officially support Resizable BAR on GeForce RTX 30 Series desktop GPUs:
It may also be motherboard manufacturer specific.

Maybe, but in OP case, they have a VBIOS dating to the year of 2020. VBIOS made in 2020 do NOT have rebar support. I can get them a rebar VBIOS but I need the full device ID which is shown in the main gpu-z window

OP tried to update VBIOS to V5 using ASUS' updater, it reported that the update wasn't necessary for some reason. But yes I agree that he should force flash the GPU with newer VBIOS to elimanate that possibility.

Yeah, the manufacturer update utilities don't always work. I think the problem is because the GPU he has is from a prebuilt computer and has it's own SKU (the -PD suffix on the model number is indicative of a GPU that comes in prebuilt computer) and it may have been assigned a different device ID from ASUS compared to retail units; that's why the BIOS updater isn't working, because it is looking for a retail unit device ID, not a prebuilt unit device ID.
