It is 83°C normal temperature on unigine superposition at default fan speed ? 33°C ambient

Manually fan curve I get 75C same test

390W GPU power archieved during the test

33c ambient is hot af..

Yes it's normal with such a high ambient temp, set a manual fan curve for the hot summer days.

gaming at 33ºC with a 3080 doing 83ºC in the same room, it's a sauna man :D

i don't get it, how can someone afford a 3080 and a pretty expensive machine and doesn't have AC to play at 33ºC

The A/C savings money went to P/C....

This is right now below monitor.
and no, it's not because of the heat of the lamp, I just turned on the lamp to take the photo

What can I do guys Im a poor man...

So I guess guys the only problem here is the room temp ?

Yeah looks normal. I'm shocked you can even handle gaming at that ambient. I hate anything above 23c

Back in the early 2000s before we got ac, the house used to be as hot as outside. I used to have a candle beside my monitor and it had sagged like an r. It used to get hot at my desk..

I feel you mang

Hang in there summer is almost over

Well Spain is like this, we had this summer up to 46ºC. But yeah without AC one it is already used :) ofc maybe you cant handle it but we are used to this temp, just gaming I dont really can do it while 34ºC is marked so only can gaming nice at morning times :)

I guess it is normal because I realized one thing:
-On my prevrious TUF 3080 OC but 10 GB the vBIOS has very agressive fan speed, like it goes up to 85% speed to mantain 70ºC max on GPU core

-But with this MSI Gaming Z the vBIOS fan speed is far away ... like it stay at max 50% speed until 82ºC and only at 82ºC started to rise up I saw max 66% speed I guess it goes more because I just stopped the test.

Yup I’m a fat polar bear, except I hate summer heat and cold winters :D

When my GPU hits 70 I’m like oh noez it’s hawt :D

Why did you swap the Asus for the MSI? They perform nearly the same and likely the Asus runs cooler due to slightly lower power limits.

Because of this, is 10% faster just as example
Assassin Valhalla 3080 TUF 10GB = 105 FPS
3080 Z 12 GB = 117 FPS
Tiny Tina Wonderlands 3080 TUF 10GB = 164 FPS
3080 Z 12 GB = 182 FPS

Yes true is the TUF OC is has very agressive fan curved on bios after 60ºC is going up to 90% fan speed and GPU core will mantain at 71ºC
While Gaming Z has very soft fan curved on bios and until 82ºC it only goes 50% fan speed onyl after this temp it will go more agressive

But I easy fix it with MSI AfterBurner custom fan curve and place it same as TUF at 90% fan speed and now I have around the same temp 70 to 74ºC.

And most important why did I swap it ? Because it cost me only 40€ more, (yes I got the money back and bought the new one)

All you had to say is it cost me 40€ well worth the upgrade in that case. Nice breakdown though.

an AC unit is cheaper then just your GPU. Not to mention the rest of the high end stuff you got on your machine. You're not poor, you like punishment.

The AC its cheaper yes, but unfortunately it doesn't work with air (yes id does), it works with energy.

And I don't know where you're from, but here in Spain the price for the energy we pay is the most expensive in Europe, not to mention that right now the price is through the roof, more than double what it was a year ago because of the war.
Here a home easily pays 300 euros per month for energy if you have AC at home.

Now lets going to talk about what really matters in this post, since you have gone around the bush, and neither you nor anyone here cares because I have or do not have or do not want to use AC. Yes I do have at home AC, if that takes away your sleep tonight.

buying a 3080 and a 12700k doesn't exactly scream i care about energy costs. But it's your choice, i'm fine with it. 300€ a month in Spain? you either have a gigantic family or a crypto farm, and i live very close to you actually.

33° C is about normal room temp here for probably 3-6 months during the year, it can go easily up to 40° C or higher at certain places in the summer! Anyway higher temps are here to stay & things will only get worse before they get better wrt global warming :ohwell:

You don't know half the s$#%t enthusiasts are willing to endure.
Back in a day we moved to a new place, and the only spot for my gaming PC was a walk-in closet. Had a beast of a computer with Athlon x2 5200 and Radeon x1900 overclocked to their absolutest limit. In the summer, during my lengthy gaming sessions it would get near 40C in there.
I'm not even gonna mention my old office, where there was no AC and the room was right below the overheating roof. The only way I could use my BGA rework station in July, is by opening all doors and windows, and "chilling" around office in my underwear. :D :D:D

i'm a very hot boy, i would sell the OP machine and buy an AC and a optiplex with a 1030, i would play in 560p in a old crt if i had to :D

I would strongly suggest some heavy overclocking + undervolting to prolong your sanity :D

Here is a basic guide to overclocking+undervolting your 3080 using MSI Afterburner

I just discovered something very strange...

Any game I run, at max settings, or benchmarks like unigine heaven or superpotition , timespy or port royal...I have a difference between GPU core and hotspot like 7 to 10ºC max.

But here is the thing, as soon I start aida64extreme to do the GPU stress test, in very few seconds like 20 or 30 seconds I have more than 20ºC difference. GPU core its about 69ºC 70ºC but hotspot 95ºC......VRAM 70ºC...

So whats the problem ??

I dont belive I have to repaste it as soon I have max 10ºC difference playing any game at max settings 3-4 hours or benchmarks same time.....

I dont get it....what aida64 is doing ??

Nothing unusual from my testing, same 12C difference between Core/Hotspot temp
