maybe Bold Font next time?

Didn't Nvidia say that a 750w to 850w would be enough for these cards?
they suggest a 750W PSU with a system running an 19-10900K & a RTX 3090
i made the joke in another thread that that recommendation might be feasible, IF the CPU & GPU were the only components drawing power.
maybe there is a factor at play here im missing, im willing to admit im not expert in power Specifications. maybe it has something to do with Power supplies that have capacitors in the PCI-e Cables (like my seasonic Focus+ 750 had)

The 3090 STRIX recommends 850W right on ASUS webpage the AIB card require different wattage than reference that's 100W more than the reference design.

I haven't had a power issue yet with my AX860 and 3090FE, and I've run Furmark for extended periods and 3dmark. my CPU is only a 6700k though and I will definitely get a 1KW if I go to a 6-8 core CPU in a year or so in a new build.

Well yeah, everybody should undervolt their Ampere cards. I went from 1965-1980 MHz @ 1050mv to 2070-2085 MHz @ 950mv on my 3070...

I'm using a single 3090 on a X570 board with a Ryzen 5800X, no overclocking. It will start up with a Antec Signature 1000W (which is a Seasonic), but not every time. Sometimes it starts up to integrated graphics. Sometimes it's starts and flickers. Sometimes it starts correctly, but I had to change the global power management in Nvidia control panel 3D settings to performance, instead of normal to make it stable over time. Without the power management change, a browser tab streaming video and audio would crash it (but not so much with video alone). 3DMark Time Spy would sometimes complete and sometimes crash. I acquired the 1000W to replace a EVGA Supernova T2 850. Nothing but a black screen with that. The 3090 runs flawlessly on a Z390 board with a i7 8700k and a EVGA Supernova T2 1600. I'm sure it's the PSU, but I'm not 100% sure it's not the MB and PSU. The 1600W PSU won't fit in the case where I want the 3090 (though I could mod it). I also need the 1600W to run 2X 2080Ti in the other box. And the current going rate for a new 1600W, if you can find one for sale, is not acceptable.
