This Polaris Architecture, wonderful and just amazing. Bought my son the SAPPHIRE Radeon™ RX 470 4G D5 OC(basically has the reference design with a blower cooler) last year for Christmas and this thing is still chugging along. Landed it for $140 with an Open-Box Deal 1216 Mhz Core/1750 Mhz Memory. For the past year its been sitting at +20% power limit and running around 1260 Mhz core. Touching the memory on these cards yield no results and take away from high core clocks. Maybe different for Miners though. Anyways, a week ago I decided to upgrade my GTX 970 FTW to the GTX 1080ti FTW3. So gave my son the 970. Well, yesterday the 970 finally gave out after 3 1/2 years of worth every penny back when it was over $350 for it. So I was checking out some custom BIOS today and come to find out, we can beef these bad arse 470's in a fine line between a RX480 and the RX580. So with my reference designed blower cooler that can get pretty warm, I decided to try flashing a heck of a RX 570 BIOS from the Sapphire Nitro+ addition which took my stock clock from 1216Mhz to 1340Mhz with a 30% power limit undervolt, but still running the same memory settings . You play with that it messes up the timings and benchmarks are degraded by a fair amount. Wonderful, just turned this thing into a nice $200 payday come next week when I buy the 1070ti for the kiddo so he can do some decent VR gaming.

With Voltage the highest I've seen on this now 570 is 1.150v. Prior to flashing, it would never break 1.063v so now clue how that 560 can even get to 1.280v. Power only comes from the PCI-e slot correct? Seems a bit high for 75w max, unless I'm mistaken with the 560.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/details/gmnay. Validating even shows it's a 570. Think, I'm either gonna run a rack of 10 of these Flashed 470's for Mining or not even get into it. Feels like the only reason the crytocurrency market is so inflated is due to having a billionaire sitting his arse firmly in the white house. It will fall off due to the fact there is nothing of value that backs it.

Good Luck with your 560.
Yea, I have no idea how it goes to 1.280. I think I saw it go to 1.112 max with +100 mV and power limit +75. Either way, keeping it at 1370mHz/1850 memory with +6 mV stable. This is a very sturdy card from what I can tell

in order to get the voltage that high you have to modify the bios using srbpolaris bios editor. you wont be able to unless you do. most of these cards can get really close to their overclock limit by just adding more voltage threw any overcloking app witch normally only allow 100mv.

bottom line is there is not much more of an overclock you can get with modding the voltages. i was just letting you know that you are fine upto 1.28v so long as you keep the card under 75c.

So I can put +100mV in MSI afterburner and apply my 1450 mhz/1950mhz clock since it's around 65 degrees without thinking I will fry it? That's great news, thank you very much for clarifying. Also, does a memory overclock benefit anything in gaming? I don't see a difference between 1500mhz and 1950mhz?

if thats what it takes to get the card stable, just keep the temps down. what i recommend with any overclock tho is that you find your max then back your core off 25mhz and 50mhz off the memory. also if you can get say 1400mhz with 68mv applied but need an extra 32mv for 1450mhz i would just use the 68mv and 1400mhz oveclock. your tems will be lower and the card is less likely to throttle.

good luck.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing just now. 50 mhz doesnt really make much difference to me. Thank You very much for your info and carification :)

hey so yea i'm back got my second rig up and running.

I want to flash the OC 1300MHZ bios (16CU) over the LITE 12xxMHZ gpu (the one with 14 CU instead of 16). both sapphire pulse cards, 2gb.
Thing is the LITE cards have Elpida memory while the OC have hynix. The OC modded bios contains the GPU overclock to 1300, Timings for Hynix (up to 2000) and a memory OC to 1950.

Noticed that the LITE bios has straps up to 1750, no 2000 straps here. And also I saw on monero benchmarks that someone is running stable up to 1850 Mhz for memory. Elpida might not like OC-ing that much?

Also, the Powertune section reports, on the original LITE bios a max power draw of 45 Watts (although the card has the 6 PIN connector), as opposed to the factory OC 60W.

My question is, how do I add the 1850 STRAP in Polaris Bios Editor?
In this circumstance (different memory and power draws) is it safe to just flash the OC Hynix 1300/1950 BIOS from the OC card, hoping to unlock 2 more CUs and a faster, more optimised memory?

Thanks,
Catalin

I was also wondering why my card is limited to 45.2W if it has the 6-pin connector?

idk but 60W and OC to 1300 is stable on these cards.
Don't know how to OC the Memory past the last memory strap, 1750...

Yes that's called Lite in my market, i'm pretty sure you have 14CU and not 16CU and Elpida memory with straps up to 1750 (no 2000), right?
please can you help me with the shader count? Crossing my fingers that you have more than 890...
If you have 1000 shaders that's GRAND, can I have your Bios please?

Yea, I don't have 1024 shaders on stock BIOS, but when I flash a custom one, the card works with 1024 shaders. My memory is Mikronis

pfff.. i need for Elpida mem.. Or would it be safe to flash bios from a card with another memory? Because that way I can flash the ones with Hynix memory that I have (OC 1300/1950 with excellent timings for mining). I'm affraid to flash Hynix bios over Elpida memory because I don't have iGPU and can't afford soft bricking the card..

So what custom bios do you flash over it? I can't seem to find a bios with 1024 shaders and elpida memory for sapphire 2GB 1233Mhz (lite) 6 pin external pci-e power..

Can anyone help pls?

It's the BIOS from this site. The only one for my card. 1300/1750 clocks for Mikronis mem. I don't think it is safe to flash a BIOS with different memory timings. Or at least, I wouldnt

Yea I share the same concern..
Didn't find any bios for 16CU 560 with elpida memory yet...

@Sinistersky I did same thing (wrote the 560 BIOS from this site on my SAPPHIRE card SKU: 11267-18-20G) but with no luck. Still have only 14CU & 896 shaders.
Could you give a copy of your BIOS?
Any idea why the activation of CUs doesn't work?
Thanks

So, I bought a RX 560 Sapphire Pulse 4GB edition. I thought it was a damn 1024 version since it has a 6-pin connector. Now it turns out, it is a damn cut version of 896 named Baffin.

Downloaded the Sapphire BIOS from this site, flashed it. Everything went great, GPU-z shows 1024 processors, the clock speeds went from 1226 Mhz/1500mHz to 1300/1750mHz.

BUT,

the voltage went to 1143 volts on the MAX 7th step. So far it's been 2 days, and everything is working fine while gaming for hours. The card uses arround 60 W, temps are arround 68-73 celsius.

My SKU is 11267-18-20G.

Should I leave this like it is since it's pretty damn more stable then default BIOS, or should I reflash my old BIOS. I'm scared of frying my card since the voltage increase. How much can the PCB take? Is this even a locked chip?

Edit: I also like the fact that the card is at 66-68 celsius while gaming for hours but on the default bios its arround 74-76. How is that even possible? Did the BIOS change the temp chip reading?

Also, my RX has no 0 RPM fan option, but the newly flashed BIOS turns off the fan when idle or low usage.

Im jus trying to figure out if this BIOS would damage my card in the long run. Seems to be working fine TBH

Hello Sinistersky;

Firstly I poor speak english.

That model Graphics card ı'm using too. Sapphire Pulse 4 GB - 11267-18-20G

I add gpu-z picture.

Can you give me your bios file please.

I' m planning install this and unlock 1024 shader.

Look, guys, It worked for me but it's wonky. Don't flash this unless you have a backup. It says 1024 shaders and all, but the screen goes dark sometimes. I have no idea why that happens
