Rx 6800 XT card hotspot temp is 102+ c

even in winter with 18c ambient. my 6950XT can stay at around 90-95°C for maybe 10 minutes until it starts to hit 110-113°C and throttles.
same for my 5700XT (when overclocked), 6800XT Aorus Master, 6900XT Speedster and 6900XT Nitro+. all are at least hitting 100°C on the hotspot after a while. the Nitro + and 6950XT hits 113°C even at 100% fanspeed with a 40°C delta after three repastes.
And they are still working fine ? Mine cause shutdown when it reach 110c . Starting to regret getting AMD

Outside the usual "you really messed up your card" (as per the pictures you posted). It is Not Common to see that high of a hotspot temperature, unless the cold plate contact is bad.

Guy on quote got royally unlucky with that Nitro+ card lol

Hitting 100C hotspot isn't extremely concerning, touching 110C is.

Reaching 110 °C shouldn't shut your PC down. It probably clocks way down into instability to preserve 110 °C. It's not an AMD problem. It's a problem with your card. :( I'd RMA it.

What are best brands than Gigabyte ?

What are best brands than Gigabyte ?
On AMD's side: Sapphire and PowerColor (Hellhound or Red Devil). Asus is a hit and miss. Some of their AMD cards are great, some not so much. Some people have good experiences with XFX, which I can't deny or confirm as I've never had one.

On Nvidia's side: Asus and maybe MSi. Palit and Zotac are okay, but nothing special.

Personally, I tend to avoid Gigabyte, but that's just me.

Gigabyte is awful on the AMD side as far as I'm aware. Don't know if its any better on the green side.

I just avoid it on all sides.

Yes all AMD fans prefer these two but the problem with what available to me will avoid gigabyte in the future

According to my experience so far, the Powercolor Red Devil brand is quite good. I haven't seen any problems using it. The second model that can be recommended is the Sapphire Nitro+ series. Thirdly, the Asus Dual series.

As a brand, Sapphire is very common and can be said to be the top model known by AMD. When buying a graphics card, you need to pay attention to the cooling block. For example; Models such as Sapphire Pulse are thinner and have less copper pipes than the models I mentioned. So the probability of overheating is slightly higher than other cards.

Gigabyte is mostly fine on the Nvidia side at least the 5 cards from them I've worked with all lived a long lives with decent temps.... My current 4090 I haven't had long enough to say but temps are also excellent but I have a relatively low ambient at all times.

I have had high hotspot temps on every AMD card since RDNA 1 I have worked with 8 so far if you don't count me returning a couple for replacement's that also had high hotspot temps all 90+ Celsius. Mostly high end models with a couple base Sapphire and XFX ones. I still haven't worked with an RDNA3 card though.

Only one was bad enough to cause major throttling though but that is in a 20c ambient and I only work with cases that have at least above average airflow.

I have an Asus factory OC RX 6800 XT & it has never given me heat issues with daily gaming @ 1440p/144Hz.
OP, you need to fill out your system specs so we can see what kind of case you have as general air flow around all componentry affects each components temp to a significant degree.

I don't know about Asus Dual (it's their bottom of the barrel series), but other than that, I agree. As for Sapphire Pulse, I've tried 3 cards recently: the 6400, 6500 XT and my current 7800 XT, they're all amazing. Super cool, super quiet and good overclockers (except for the 6400 which is locked by AMD).
