I have two Sapphire 7970. I was playing Splinter Cell Blacklist, about 5 mim of playing i started to see vertical lines on the screen.

I stop the game and go to desktop... the lines disappeared. I started the game again and the lines appeared again.

so i started test disable crossfire and no problem on the first card, then change to the other and the lines are there.

After a fill tests it started to get worsen, until the card did go to a green or gray state to the full screen all the time even on idle and in the boot process...

I try to change the PCI-E slot but did not help, Change the position of vbios to the default did not help, as the problem did not show in both card, only in one the rest of the system is fine.

during all this test the temp did not pass 65° c on the GPU and VRM i'm using HWinfo64 to monitored the temp. In my system i never see the temp go over 75° i always maintain a high fan speed during games.

I believe the card is dead , But perhaps some one have the same problem and get it fix, and can give me a help.

I Know the cards have 2 years to do RMA and my warranty goes to 12/2013, But I live in Europe and to do the RMA from here is very expensive.

please if some one know something please help me.

tks...

Try uninstalling the drivers completely and then reinstall, also you could try to check the card in a friend's pc.
Don't know for sure but i think you could flash the original bios and get it fixed/replaced on account of the warranty.

I would flash the original bios, then try the card on another PC like said above, if the card behaves the same( most likely it will) then RMA.

Well since the problem appears even in bios, yeah, you should flash and RMA it.

I'm thinking of doing the RMA.

But some one can tell me this.

Is to the card die so fast?? i did not use the PC for a few days, then i started the PC just to play, play for 5 min, have the problem, started test and in 5 to 10 min of test the card goes from a fill lines to the entire screen and stay that way???

any one had a card die fast like this???

and if some one did recovered from this pleas tell...
