You popped that sucker off!!!

Cry why?

That card is clocked at 900Mhz and games EVERY DAY still!

It's also a PRO sold at 600Mhz stock LOL

Here is what I turned that melted tec block into.
Shame I sanded off the hidden ATi logo from the 2900 that was BURNED into it LOL.

Hmmm, I just realized that we are completely jacking mussels' thread.

How we are talking about ATi still. At least I am lol.

i dont care, its ATI related.

I havent had an ATI card (excluding IGP) since my X1800XL, so i'm a bit behind. so far i havent exactly heard anything bad, except that you can melt their logo into things... and thats good :D

Don't forget that their also rather water resistant, as evidenced by both D and myself.

You can also run them at VERY VERY VERY high temps lol

yay for new stuff to research!

Hmm i wonder if theres a 48x0 OCing thread, or a clubhouse....

Just remember INSTALL CCC

You have to run AI for Ati fixes on programs. ATi fixes codes for other game company's all the time.

They have a in house Microsoft man. This is why they pass the MS test every moth unlike Nvidia. That's why they have beta beta and beta.

On ATi cards I like to flash the cards. I really really do. It's SO EASY on their cards because I think the tools are just better available.

dont worry, the 8800GT will hide in my bedroom for times i fee lonely for the green team.

Anyway i started a thread Here trying to get as much info as i can in one place.

Shhh we all know that you are a ATi man as well.:pimp:

I haven't owned an ATI since 9800, that too my brother gave it away. Destiny has it I pick up NVIDIA at the last moment. Just when I almost made up mind to buy a 2900XT, the store ran out of it, and storekeeper advertised 8800 GTS 640M like he was a pusher selling crack to a first-time schoolkid. Just when I almost finalized a 4870 deal, a friend from Europe said GTX 260 offered better value at that point in time -> GTX 260.

I still know your a ATi fan even tho you don't have one lol.

O know what card you want and it's coming out soon lol.

The 260 I think is the better card it has built in physics and you know who sponcers all the games. N does so here come soon all games will use it. Remember all cards N releases over the next year and a half will be that card only smaller and smaller.

Nvidia Physx is dead once DX11 comes out with windows 7, as MS is doing an open Physics engine anyone can use. And yes, DX11 i supposed to work on DX10/10.1 hardware, AND its going to be ported to vista.

MS is doing a GPGPU technology, not exactly a physics middleware. That technology is competition to CUDA and OpenCL.

back when i crammed everything i could about DX11, this GPGPU was intended to be used for physics. Sure it can do more, but its definately going to be used for that.

nice chose my friend im also have one , it is really good

This post is to inferno, who i directed here from another thread.

1. I bought a 1GB card because at the time, it was cheaper than the 512MB model.

2. Even tho the site has updated their prices now, its about $30 au difference between 512MB and 1GB. I'd still go 1GB.

3. I agree that very few games will use that 1GB of ram. However i have a long term crossfire goal, and since crossfire and SLI dont share RAM, that would mean i'd have two 4870 GPU's with a total of 512MB or 1GB - i'd prefer 1GB with the two GPU's.

I pick it. I liked the plan with the crossfire goal.

You mean it's faster but sacrifices quality to do so?

sounds like Driver Optimizations that NV has done since the GF 4 Series.
